IP and phone lookup tools

This is a pet project of mine. It's in a very early stage of development (as you'll soon notice) but I'd like to get as much feedback as possible while it's still possible to change the specs.

In its current state it will accept an IP address or phone number and attempt to give you as much information on it as possible. (For the phone number it will attempt to give you country & region, the IP lookup tool is basically a WHOIS). That's nothing special so far. The cool thing is that you can submit the info to a database, so that if/when another baiter looks for the same IP/phone later, the system will give them your name.

Please do give it a try (at worst it's as good as any other WHOIS tool) and let me know what you think. There's no login required yet. I'm planning to add more info so that the system can automatically cross-reference phone numbers, IPs, e-mail addresses, lad names and street addresses across several otherwise unconnected baits.

Bankster you're about a year late. We've been building something similar and it's near completion. It's a complete stand alone system that does this and so much more. I can't wait until we can show you all. Very Happy

It would be great when it's up and running. I've had several scams repeated to me by what I know in some cases is the lad using another email address and it would be good to track and cross reference them.

Especially if it is a bait gone wrong.

Aw, man. My beautiful idea. Oh well, great minds do seem to think alike... you guys got any use for a list of telephone country / area codes?

Sorry mate. Even though you're a tad late, it's still a good idea. I just didn't want you to spend a bunch of time and effort re-inventing the wheel. Very Happy

Seriously though, if there's already a wheel ready to be delivered, I won't spend any more time on reinventing it and do something more productive instead. At any rate I appreciate your telling me now, and not after I've spent five sleepless nights in a row to finish my project. Smile
