hey everyone.

i teach guitar and banjo and in the past ive gotten a few scam emails from people wanting their son/daughter to take lessons. they would like to know my fee so they can send me a check which invariably they will overpay on and want me to send them the difference....

ive always just deleted these but i think id like to have some fun with one now. i have none in my spam folder and was wondering if anyone taught music or anything for that matter and has gotten one of theese that they could send me one so i could get going..

thanks!

It's generally considered a bad idea to give scammers any of your real life details.

I haven't seen any specifically for music teachers before, but there are plenty of other emails you can borrow in the surplus letters section here.

I own a nanny agency and frequently get scam emails to do the same. Over seas clients must pay in advance and they say they will pay triple if I cash a check and give them the money back. It is all a scam. I do not bait them as they use my work email address which has my house address. Next time I get one I will send it this way for someone else to take over. I also get bizarre emails from "families" in Russia asking for pretty English nannies that are young. I do not deal with these people as I think it may be part of the sex slave industry.
