Hi,

not been on here in a while but my girlfriend just narrowly averted getting ripped off on a gumtree ad for a flat, asking for a payment to be mde by WU to a friend as a sign of trust. Anyway, dont really have much time to do scambaiting these days but was hoping some of you public spirited people might want to entertain this fella for a while. His email is

and the flat was advertised as Lombard Rd Battersea London.

I will immediately call at Western Union and verify the transfer and if the money will be there available I will book myself a ticket for next day and I will come to meet you , visit the flat and sign the contract with you , in the case that you will be 100% satisfied .
Please read carefully , I don't ask you any money in advance , you will send the money to someone that you can trust

I think I know the answer to my own question here -but just to be clear- was your girlfriend looking to rent her own flat out, or was she looking to rent a flat from someone else?

Hi,

this was my girlfriend wanting to rent a flat off this guy after replying to an ad on gumtree, there was an earlier email but it has got lost.

However I have just taken the plunge and created a new character to bait him with, I have just dived straight in and asked to look at the flat and have recieved the same cut and pasted reply so all systems go. Anyone wanting to join in a short message requesting a viewing of the Battersea flat should get him on the hook.

I'm happy to post up the headers as well, but cant remember the hide tag etc so will check that out later. The IP address resolves back to Romania.

As for my other half, she is now happily sat up on the bed reading my copy of Greetings In Jesus Name and a new member of this forum.

Hmmm...one of my characters is looking for a flat in the London area, would have preferred the Bayswater area, but this sounds as if it might do...depending...Battersea? I don't know. Seems as if I might have to barter with the guy...

I meant what does chopping his dollar actually mean? Killing his account or actually taking his money?

I always thought cash baiting was against the rules

^^ Cash baiting is against the rules. Dollar chopping is just making your scammer think someone else took the money that was supposed to go to him. Great fun. Very Happy

ah, so you literally send an email pretending to be another lad who has intercepted his money. Wicked, I like it a lot. Not for me though, I attempted lad speak only once before and was busted straight off.
