While using this Dead Frontier Training Simulator, Jose and I have figured out something very important upon surviving the zombie hordes.

- Always stay together.
- One team member must have a machine gun, the other many shotguns. That way you can swap ammo when you find it, and most importantly the shotgun clears a big path pushing the zombies back. Most of the time exploding them.
- In this training simulator a can of beans costs $200, and to have someone cook them for you costs about $95. Shocked

- Here's a tip. Buy a truck load of long-life beans and be the only people with a frying pan.
- Don't let Jose 'watch your back', or 'talk to your children' while playing. You will die, and then have to fight your way back.
- Forget chainsaws. You need to build that upper-body strength by swinging an axe, baseball bat, shovel, iron pipe or home-made battle-axe. Plus it's a great workout and keeps you tight.

You guys are so lucky we're here to get this information to you, and sacrifice our time to run about in this simulator.

I think the women in the video should have been topless, this would have made the film more effective and educational.

But what is the difference between the apocolypse and armaggedon?

If you have to ask that question, you're already dead. With your brains scooped out for hors d'oeuvres.

Any responsible citizen knows that the apocalypse is merely the warm-up for the armageddon.

Look, I don't mind answering complex questions. You know - the sort of things that only zombie experts like myself and the mod team would have the answers to. But if you need to know the basics, you really should read this thread in it's entirety. It might just save your life.
Ignore the bit about the dude up the pole on the first page though. I'm pretty sure, he's got fuck all to do with it.

I can't believe it took me this long to find a zombie thread.

There's been lots of talk of movies, but you guys are seriously short on the literature.

Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide is pretty much the only book mentioned here! You didn't even mention World War Z.

How about Kim Paffenroth's "Dying to Live" or Z.A. Recht's "Morningstar" trilogy? David Wellington's "Monster Island" trilogy? The last you can read online

Then there is Joe McKinney's "Dead City" series. And John Adams' "Living Dead" anthology. Steven Jones' "Zombie Apocalypse!" too.

Permuted Press specializes in publishing zombie apocalypse books. There's also the magnificent http://www.zombiebooklist.com/USA.php

It's not too late to buy yourself or your loved ones some essential reading for staying alive in the new zombie-infested year.

Also, read the Autumn series. The movie was godawful, as the supposedly British characters keep speaking in Canadian/American dialects. Also, there is an absurdly long introduction to a clown who only says one line.

However, Autumn is an interesting take on zombies. A plague wipes out a huge percent of the population. At first, the significant threat is from the corpses simply rotting. When they begin to rise, they are nonviolent and simply very annoying. They just stagger around and get in one's way. It is only very much later on that the zombies go from being a mere annoyance to an actual threat.

^ I bought my son a couple of Max Brooks' book for Xmas, don't know why he's already said I'm liable to slow him down in the event of an attack, therefore expendable, though the campervan is central to his plan.
Maybe I shouldn't have got him the driving lessons as well, he may keep me if he needs a driver
