^^ Weapons are all well and good, but when push comes to shove, the shit hits the fan and the zombies are beating against the door, it's gonna be quick wits and fast actions that count. Sure, having a powerful weapon will help, but having a powerful (uneaten) brain will help even more. Good looks will probably come into the equation too.

Yeah, you'll be blasting away at the zombies and stabbing away at them with your knife but I'll be the one practicing maximum survival from minimum effort by not attracting zombie attention in the first place. Eventually, you'll tire and get over-run. Me? I'll just continue being quietly awesome and untroubled by the zombie plague whilst drinking my own urine in the cellar.

I just watched Dawn of the Dead, Resident Evil and Day of the Dead. We're going to need Mini-Guns, and about 100,000 rounds, which at a ROF of 3000 rounds a minute... okay, make it 500k.

Propane tanks and flares as well. Lots and lots.

I am so glad this thread exists. This is better than that pansy survival guide version.

Rookie? Have you been reading this thread? I've been preparing for this for 20 years, indulging my youth in the creative way to make high explosives from household items.

Fire is a great tool, but I wasn't talking about fire. Propane tanks are household items with explosive force. BLEVE, is Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapour Explosion. With home-made incendiary and a shotgun you have yourself a quick and dirty concussion grenade. Plus fire, being a readily available tool, can strip a zombie of it's flesh destroying the brain in under in a minute. Fire the greatest tool when all you have left is a shovel.

Quarantine is pretty good too. Even the foreign version Quarantine copied is worth watching although I can't think of the name right now.

About the arsenal, well I'm not going to pull mine out if no one else is Laughing

@NN if you watch Land of the dead you'll know we also need to pack up on fireworks. Eventually we will have to head into town for supplies. If we don't SOOI is going to starve to death hiding under his house because all he has for a weapon is a golf club and a rolling pin.

@R2D2 - zombies on fire can only remain walking for a few seconds. Don't believe everything you read Rolling Eyes

Shotgun shells probably won't pierce your prophane tank. Hollow points will pierce the tank but fail to ignite it. Incendiary rounds however have a chance to pierce and ignite , but it takes two shots and i'm not certain its really worth it.
A pintle mounted chaingun that is on your driving fortress of doom will pierce and ignite it.

See , watching mythbusters is usefull for when the zombie armageddon comes along.

Shotguns have so many different ammo types and are so versatile during this impending doom. 9-shot is recommended for everyday zombie use, but you can also get high explosive, fletchettes and flares.

Although I doubt I can buy this at my local sporting goods store. Also, it seems like overkill for zombies. Not that there's anything wrong with overkill when dealing with zombies. Just ask the 3-shotguns-attached-together guy from undead!

Here are some readily available garden implements that were actually designed with zombie killing in mind.

All safety guards (where applicable) should be removed and oversized blades installed when available.
