I have no idea what has become of 2009 it feels almost as though it were yesterday that the year had just begun yet here we are right at the end of it.

I thought I would put together some highlights of 2009 that may bring back some memories for a lot of you this year.

Eater starts the process of suing various individuals for copyright infringement and slander

While 2009 has certainly had it's share of highlights it has also seen the start of multiple lawsuits both civil and liable against various individuals who have seen fit to berate and slander both the site certain associates of 419eater as well as myself.

After months of planing and deciding how we are going to handle this we have just about come to the end of our identification phase where identifying these individuals based on the evidence we have gathered from various subpoenas is just about done. So far we can comfortably point to three perhaps four individuals who felt it was a-okay to slander both this site and it's staff.

We will be filing additional liable lawsuits against each individual in the coming weeks and months, while the wheels of justice move slowly move they do. I am looking forward to meeting with these individuals face to face in court to see what they have to say for themselves while not hiding behind perceived anonymity of he internet.

I just want to take some time out to Thank Okorie for all the hard work time and effort he has put into building the case against these people.

This site would be nothing without it's dedicated members. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for contributing to the site and for making it what it is today.

The Family Members
A huge thank you goes out to the team of senior eater family members who are helping us out with the lawsuits. They have, and still, are tirelessly sifting through log files and screen captures with a fine tooth comb. Your dedication and perseverance is unmatched thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do for 419Eater, I'd prefer to have these members on our team than compete against them under any circumstances, thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. The amount of information and cross referencing they have been able to dig up has been pretty phenomenal.

Premium members
Running four servers, utilizing the amount of bandwidth that we use, transferring systems to backup servers as well as having dedicated systems that give eater a 99.9% uptime for 2009 costs a lot of money.

The bills come in every month and thanks to our premium members the bills get paid on time and in full. Times have been tough over the last couple of years, and I know that quite a few of our members have run into financial difficulty's as well as RL situations that personally I would not like to face yet the funds still come in on a monthly bases. Our fight is a well worthwhile fight and to all of those that have donated in the past and that continue to donate please accept a heartfelt thank you both from myself and the rest of the eater associates.

Fellow Admins / Mods and Associates

What can I say about our mod team here at Eater. In my mind without a doubt the best team we have ever had on board. The dedication and sheer amount of time that each and every one of the mod team spends on eater, helping out with user requests, ensuring that we all have a spam free / troll free environment where baiting and related activities can be discussed in a civil and orderly manner simply astounds me.

To each and every one of you I would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the work that you have put into Eater this year.

A special thank you
I would also like to take time out to make a special thank you to Ima Baeder and her team of mods over at Scamwarners.com. Ima and her team are doing a marvelous job at growing the site and making it one of the most visited 419 related victim support sites on the net today. Thank you to all of you.

In closing

Who knows what 2010 will hold for us? While I'm unable to answer that question, one thing I do know, is that is that 419 and related scams will still be around. The lads will be out there trying whatever they can in order to scam individuals out of their hard earned money. Of course 419Eater members will be there as well, giving the lads absolute hell and ensuring that they start to think twice before trying to scam another victim.

Feel free to add your thoughts and or "Eater moments" from 2009 to this thread.

Of all of the retrospectives taht the media will offer, I think this is the BEST one! Thank you Rover for keeping things bubbling along here for all of us.

The work done ot protect and support victims is fantastic. Cheers to you all!

What a great review of the year - I never thought I could have so many highlights to a year just from a forum.
