I got an email on one of my accounts

sending a large message to many recipients. Email is an inefficient
method for distributing large files, and a separate copy has to be sent
to every recipient. For instance if you send a 5MB file to 5 people,
that takes 5*5MB = 25MB bandwidth, plus 5MB to send the message from
your PC to the server.

In one month, you may use bandwidth equal to five times your total
storage quota. In one hour, there are lower limits. See the help (linked
from every page on the web site) for details.

Please email us if you have any questions regarding this issue.

Question is how ?
Because Im not sending any large files and i dont mass mail !
Any ideas ?

If what you say is true, why not ask Fastmail ?

Thats what I have just done did find 400 emails in the trash which i deleted so maybe thats the cause !

Now they are denying me access to this account (btw NOT the one they sent me a warning about !)

Pity as I had quite a good romance bait going and I cannot remember the lads addy !

Try sending them a nice email, explaining that you are a baiter here, and perhaps the spam is to blame. If you let them know your are a baiter, they will give you some slack and reactivate your account. At least in the past they have done that for others here. Smile

could be a false positive. I.E a spammer spoofed your email address. Is it perhaps a common email address like [email protected] or something like that?

I would do SlapHappy's suggestion. I've had them reopen an account in the past by letting them know I was baiting.

Yeah, I'd like to know if they re-open your account. As I've said before elsewhere, I got the same warning after a very few emails (<10) in one mailing. I didn't use anywhere near the bandwidth you're describing, either.

They suspended the account, I sent a nice, coherent mail to the admins and ... boom!, account closed.

Maybe I got a P.O.'ed admin that day. But I'd be interested in seeing if the Fastmail Admins are 'baiter-friendly' .

In my case about a year and a half or so ago, my co-baiter and I just filled it
up to the max with normal emails, and got locked out. We weren't ASEM'ing from it either. They opened it up, giving us a chance to move the emails to another location and start over. Maybe it could be different now? I don't know.

One of my accounts was similarly locked out due to going over the bandwidth limit. I wasn't given any warning. I traced it to my lad sending a ton of attachments (images of forms etc). Luckily I was only using it for a day or so and there wasn't much of anything lost...

Since Fastmail has only a 10mb storage limit I would use Gmail etc. if you intend to send a lot of mail, or receive it.

The admins at fastmail are baiter aware, and in the past have seemed quite ok about having people baiting using their service, provided you don't go over the quota. I reckon you'll get your account back.
