Hey all, long time no chat. Anyway, my brother in law has found himself a "girlfriend" on a dating site. I only just found about it today from his son who has been warning him that its probably a scam. He gave me a look at the pics and emails. It screams scam.

Apparently she is from the US, living in africa to help the poor starving children. Looking at the pics it looks like she models in her spare time, duh. For an american from the bronx, she has great engrish - oh and fell desperately head over heels, i'll die without you, in love in the second email.

Now, I just need to find proof to show my BIL.

Hi XPS

As Corona has suggested, Scamwarners is the best place to send him if you can get him to have some doubts.

There are a couple fo information threads there in particular that you and he should both take a look at.

Firstly, what information we need to find you proof and how to post it Click Here

Anything at all you can get will help us to find some proof for you to present to him.

If he doesn't want to cooperate and provide you with information, try getting (presumably your wife / his sister) to read the second link to him, print it out first if you need to.

If he still insists its a real girl who loves him, then it couldn't hurt to ask at Scamwarners for our opinion and we will be able to prove it is a real girl for him if that is the case and therefor quieten all of you people who keep telling him it's a scammer.

BTW
From the little I have seen there is no doubt it is a scammer but he may be more cooperative if he thinks we are going to prove she is real.

Hey Murray, not a doubt its a scammer here. She has already got him to send $100 before I even heard about it. So they know he will send money now and it wll just get worse from here. Worse for my in law - he is about to sell his house to move into a smaller one as his two adult sons have moved out - and I dont doubt he has mentioned it to her in convo so 'she' wont be letting go any time soon.

I'll get his son to forward me the emails and get all that posted up ASAP.
