Ok, this is a classic romance scam, but the point I'm stuck at is general enough I thought I'd post it here. This is what I'm stuck at:

I keep turning the tables and trying to get them to send me $25 for Transfer Fund Release fee. I want The Matrix on Blu-Ray for Christmas and these guys to fund it - Hahaha! Twisted Evil

Anyways, no dice. They keep sending this back to me over and over. I even sent them a money request invoice from PayPal! Laughing

So am I stuck at a dead end, or is there a way to work this one?

That sounds like "cash baiting". Do not go there. Its a big NO NO.

The problem with doing this . . in my opinion . . you are becoming a "scammer" yourself. Always remember, you are a "baiter" NOT a "scammer".

Ok, so, if we eliminate trying to get money from them, is there any other way to continue this one? Or is it just a dead end?

OK, here's the full name. But what's a transfer control number? Where do you get that from? Oh, it was on that piece of paper! But you threw away your copy. What should you do now? Well, you went back to that money transfer place, but they didn't want to give it to you. They said you could be anybody. Should you go back again and offer some ID?

No, that still didn't work: the clerk said that you might have just borrowed your brother's passport - that photo doesn't really look like you, after all. So now what? You are getting really anxious about this. Especially with that heavy workload coming up, so you'll have less time for running back and forwards to town......

Obviously not really, but I have a bait that has been going on for three weeks where I say I have attached the files they want and I clearly haven't. So far I have done that 8 times with various "I don't understand" emails thrown into the mix.

They are clearly frustrated with me but don't want to let go of someone who is so patently stupid.

Stupid is good.

If you need fake MTCN slips then look in the Tool kit forum. Plenty of members have designed unreadable slips for this purpose, but try the suggestions above first. Your need to build up a rapport with your lad, prove you are stupid but keen to help him out and willing to send him his money.

Also, why not sign up for a mentor.
