Dear Sergeant Tom,

I feel it is my duty to inform you, since you have so generously offered me your business opportunity, that - even though I do not suspect you of nefarious schemes - an event has occurred that may have bearing on your enterprise.

Evidently, in June of this year a member of the Aryan Brotherhood got ripped off by a Nigerian scam artist. The Aryan Brotherhood (AB) member was high up in the organization. He received an email promising him 8 million dollars, but he wound up losing 8 thousand to the African criminals.

The result of this is that the entire Aryan Brotherhood (one of America’s most dangerous criminal gangs) has sworn to put all its considerable resources toward traveling to Nigeria or anywhere in the world and murdering suspected scam artists. The AB is not known for being careful in selecting their targets: they have already tortured and killed several poor innocent Africans who, like yourself, were surely performing legitimate business services.

So, beware my friend, and best of luck. I am afraid I cannot accept your generous proposal because I am afraid of the AB finding my information on your hard drive and then going after me and my family.

Hi Scambaiter and welcome. Is this an email you sent out to a scammer? How did he respond? My guess is that he ignored you. Wink

Please do explain your bait further and be careful with references to the Aryan Brotherhood. We'll not tolerate any racism here; I almost removed your thread simply by the title.

No racism intended - I just used the most likely pit bull for the target.

I do get responses, generally along the lines of: You are mistaking me for one of the scam artists. My situation is different and genuine. You do not have to worry. etc.

I know I'm a bit off topic since my response doesn't qualify as a counter-hustle, but it's still fun.
