Got an email for UK lottery winnings today. It came with a return email address in the body of [email protected]. Checked out the site, weak but convincing. I will start researching how to shut it down, but am very busy today with an air show rehearsal outside of my office window. (read as I will not get a darn thing done today cause I am watching all the pretty planes!) Can I get some quick advice on this one? |

Mentioned here as being connected to scams:

The fact that it's registered to a private individual in the US is also a scam tip-off. If you post all of this in the Fake Banks/Sites forum, we can walk you through 404'ing it. Also an email with header will work.
Good catch! |

If you do have a win on the UK lottery (at least on the Euromillions one) you get an Email to your registered address asking you to log onto your account for a communication. There is no mention of a win in the Email although they do provide a link to their home page. Of course in such circumstances you should always check the address in the address-bar before entering.
