I read somewhere that some lads will make other people pose for a requested photo instead of them
How common is it for lads to do this? Is there any worry in displaying an innocent person on the forums? |

I would says that at least 95% or more of photo's that are on this site and over at SW'ers are not that of the actual scammer. |

I think the 95% figure is far too high....
Lonely lads who do not want to share with others and work for themselves and who do deliver more than one single photo, I think they are the email writing scammers themselves - at least with longer baits. |

95% might be right for Vlads posing as ladies but too high for lads.

Is it defeating the object if scammers get other people to pose?
Oh, btw, I'm talking more 'holding a sign up' photos - not the ones stolen from Google or stored that you can get with little effort. |

That's not really defeating the object... Unless your object is humiliation only...
But people don't pose for nothing... The scammer probably has to pay them or promises them part of the payout... He won't make friends if you don't pay |

I was thinking of setting up a 'modelling' business, making lads dress in dumb clothes, but if they can pay someone to pose for them, I'm not sure it will feel right.
I always assumed the lads photo themselves... |

What about with tattoos? Do lads get other people to do it for them? |

The love lads will, if you can be raunchy enough to convince them you really really want to see their weapons of love
There have been some classics from love lads over the years.
It's always been my hope of getting one into something like my avatar wears, and getting a pic of it.
Try a love lad for the modelling pics, they are always so sure of their prowess. |

I suppose it is theoretically possible, but non-lads wouldn't be sending you a scam format, looking for money out of a fake transaction, and wouldn't be mixed up in all of this. |

Im sure the actual scammer will pay them/provide them with a promise to pay. An innocent person could be involved I suppose, if the lad doesnt tell them what they are posing for. |

Perhaps, I just got to wondering - We could be putting non-lads through stuff that we direct at lads.
Take this: http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=158647 for example. This is likely to be a lad, but what if it's not? He looks pretty miserable, and the tattoo would have been painful. If he's an innocent doing that for money, he has the tattoo of a scammer.
Also, his photo could be spread, and he would be renowned across the Internet as a scammer.
I laughed when I first saw the photo, but we could be laughing at the wrong people here. |

If you have reservations about not doing certain things then that's your prerogative.
As for this magically plucked number of 95%, I doubt it very much.
I wouldn't even like to guess, but I believe a vast majority of the pictures we collect is the scammer. The main reason being greed. Why share if you strike it lucky with a promising victim? Make one huge cash collection and you're on easy street. Sure most lads work in groups, but even if we're passed up the chain, then a higher level lad is only going to get one of the lower lads to pose.
As for tattoos. They bloody hurt... sober.
If you feel uncomfortable collecting ridiculous trophies, then don't do it. We have so many ways you can hurt a lad. |

See, I wouldn't mind at all if lads are known to get lower-lads to pose.
I want to collect trophies as they are goals. |

If a friend of mine approached me and said, 'Hey, will you pose for a photograph holding up a sign saying, "I love you, Mike"?' Or, 'Will you dress in these funny clothes for a photograph?' or 'Fake a baptism?' or 'Have something really strange tatooed on your arm?' I think my first question would be 'Why?' And the weirder it was, the better reason my friend would need to give me.
I think therefore, at the very least, I would know I was being involved in some sort of deceit. Or maybe (if I thought they were modelling shots) in some sort of hopeful-but-unlikely opportunity.
Chances are, I'd know it was a scam that I was helping out with.
I don't suppose Lads' friends reactions are going to be any different to mine. Except that, given the culture, they would presumably think of 'helping a scam' as a more likely reason for their actions than I would.
So I reckon they know what they are doing. And therefore I don't mind laughing at them too, or displaying their images online.
It is, of course, possible, that an 'innocent' person could be bullied, threatened, or otherwise forced to do something. But that is a possibility in all our dealings with other people. If I say to you, for example, that I'll help you with that form/graphic/whatever you are asking for, you have no idea whether I then freely and willingly do it for you - or whether I go and put a knife to my next door neighbour's throat and say, 'You make this Useful Item I need, or else I shall cut you from ear to ear.'
You can't control that. That's not your responsibility, either. I can't control what Lads do in their daily lives. That is their responsibility, not mine. I don't worry about it. |

Then there's the lad that will coerce (force?) his girlfriend into posing in her undies or less for you .... does that bother you?
Simply don't go there, get into fake check scams and closing bank accounts, or phone sellers .... far less "fun" but very rewarding and damaging to the lads pocket.
If they contacted you to try and scam you then they deserve everything they get. (Death is too good for them! (Monty Python's Life of Brian))

Oh goody! An ethics thread.
I don't trophy bait usually but I have had lads who got their friends to loan them money so they could go on safaris and help them build ridiculous sandbag pyramids. There is no 100% way to know for sure when trophy baiting that you aren't involving ITPs, but it's not anything I would concern myself with as the odds are pretty small.
That's why I check bait, report bank accounts and fake sites. It is far more damaging to get a lad's site killed than it is to get him to pose for some picture that says "I shag sheep" or something like that. |
