Is it just me, or are the lads getting lazier and lazier? I just went trough some of my older baits, some dating back to the days I started baiting (including my very first one) and I noticed that in those baits many lads would go great lenghts to convince me this was the real deal. My first lad didn't even mention anything about paying him before I had baited him for weeks or so and he had given me all sorts of fake documents, photos and stuff.
Whereas few of my latest batches have started asking money sooner and sooner. The most talented clowns have told me to send them hundreds of Dollars already in their second email. And this other one has been discussing things with me for a week, and now he wants 50,000 Euros. I can only wonder what he is smoking, if he thinks that anyone would send a complete stranger such sums after knowing him for a week.
Now, I know the fun (at least for me) starts only once the money gets involved, so the lads have a carrot to chase in their dreams. I don't consider the "straight to the point" attitude a problem at all, when it comes to successfully baiting our favorite criminals. This thread's point is more to wonder if anyone else has noticed any difference in the lads? We all know they are lazy, but examples such as above are ridiculous. Or is it just me and my super lazy pets? |

Not so much laziness as it is awareness.
On one hand, we can look at this as a good thing since it means that, as Corona said, we're making a difference and the lads are becoming more suspicious of real victims.
But on the other hand, one could argue that, as a result, the efficiency of baiters and baiting in general has dropped a lot more than the efficiency of lads against victims, thereby resluting in an improvement in the 419 industry. |

Personally I see this as a good thing, if it actually is a real phenomenon instead of just my mushroom hallucination. Let's suppose it is, no one wants to hear about those mushrooms anyway.
Victims are becoming aware of the dangers of email as well and if the lads use less time to get to the money part, they have less time to convince a victim that this is not a scam, unlike every other spam mail they get in their inbox.
"Don't send money to people you don't know" makes much more sense, if the lad hasn't even tried to get to know the vic before asking for payments. They need to build trust just as much as we need to build trust to bait them.
And every baiter has a bag full of useful tricks when it comes to the payment modalities, so it doesn't hurt us either. Especially when we get the lads to follow our scripts, not the other way around. The only ones getting hurt by the lads' impatience are the lads themselves. |
