I mean ovbiously these lads make a few bucks here and there, but lately I see them going for smaller amounts these days, often just a couple hundred bucks.
Does anyone here have what a couple hundred dollars would buy you in Ladland? |

I don't know what it would buy you, but according to this site:

and others (Google Nigeria minimum wage 2009), the minimum wage is 5500 naira/US$40 per month. So, assuming that ye ordinaire worker is paid minimum wage, $200 would be five months salary to you and I.
Though ... if a Lad is asking for a small amount, that is probably only to find out if you are indeed 'a payer'. If you pay that first amount, he will probably ask for another larger 'fee' later. |

The exchange rate is pretty good and I've heard a few dollars go a long way.
In reality though, they are going for smaller amounts just to see if they can get you to pay. If you do, you'll be sure some other larger fee will come around that you'll be forced to pay. |

What type of scams? I suspect that scams that net only smaller amounts are more profitable.
