Has anybody ever had much fun with Soldier Lads, those "GI has liberated some of Saddam's loot" guys. I have a couple on the hook now and can't remember reading if anybody here had managed to do anything other than straight bait with them (not that there's anything wrong with that!!! Laughing

)

Oh, and great work to all who bait here - some phenominal baits! Love It!!!

Personally, when I mention Africa to the false GIs, they always refer me to their "close friend" (who suspiciously has the exact same style of writing) and I take it from there. I've not done anything Iraq-related with them though. I suppose it just wouldn't work since they simply aren't there.

My thoughts exactly. So far my captain is promising to ship out his trunk box of Saddam's cash but it HAS to go via Africa as the Security there is Lower (which to my mind makes it less than 100% risky free)! I have to purchase a diplomatic "No Search" label to ensure it gets to wherever I live (haven't decided yet!) but I would love to get him to collect some of Saddam's treasure for my Museum ( the Museum of Universal Geological Understanding) before he ships the cash. Shame he's in Abidjan rather than Baghdad.

Guess I'll have to wait until I get to deal with the African Customs man to have my fun Smile

I have worked with several "soldier boys" and they are entertaining.

Of course, the goods are always shipped to a "lad port" like Nigeria, Netherlands, Spain.

I've only had two Soldier-Boy baits that lasted very long - one sorta sort (http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=154348) and another more effective (http://www.scamorama.com/dane_james.html).

In the longer one, the Lad tried at first to convince Eliza that the money would be delivered to her in Sydney, but since he was writing from Ghana, and added this:

I got one of the Red Cross Officers working here in Iraq who will be leaving Iraq for Ghana tomorrow night with the boxes on a Red Cross Chartered Cargo Flight going to Ghana...

It came as no surprise to read the boxes ended up there.
