This site claims to be a green card lottery that requires advanced fees to enter. The real green card lottery does not require a fee. I will kill it when it gets a DB entry. The site claims to be in America, however, they are asking for payment via WU in Cyprus Pounds.

Unfortunately these green card lottery sites are a dime a dozen...

I don't believe we deal with these types of sites here, as dodgy as they might be.

I was looking at their main page and found this:

Not something I'd ever do if I was looking to enter the green card lottery, but I don't know as I could clearly call it fraudulent since they are offering their services for your fee.

This is a tricky one. Bucaneer's site appears to be asking for WU payments while the others are asking for credit cards, making it look even scammier . . . but I still don't think these are something we'll deal with here because they aren't something that will come up on a bait, and it will be hard to prove any evidence of advance fee fraud.

I'm posting this here for the benefit of anyone reading and have expressed this to bucaneer in PM. My suggestion is to go next door or ask Artemis to find out if these types of sites are something that aa419.org will investigate and deal with. I don't think it's something that we'll be working on here for the reasons stated above. I'll move this thread off to Misc. scams in a bit.

I don't think aa419 likes dealing with these either.

There are many sites that just border on the legal side of a thin line. They offer a useless service but are not fraudulent. The green card lottery falls into this category as well as online shops and loan facilitators.

My advice is to move on and kill the 419 scam sites Smile

(aa419 has over 800 waiting to be killed)
