My personal longest-lasting bait went for 11 months. Apart from that I've had several go for six months or so.

My shortest so far was about 2-3 days.. I have an ongoing bait atm which has lasted 6 weeks so far. That's longest I've had since I started baiting. I'm not sure how much longer I can keep it going though, he's wondering where his money is Laughing

My shortest baits were phone lads, and the shortest of those maybe a few hours. There's no need to go slow with them, so it's "Send me a price list", "Have you got a Playstation 4?", "How do I pay you?", "Hello Mr abuse@yahoo, look what this naughty boy is doing."

My longest is the one on-going at the moment. It started in April last year, but there were several months without any contact due to RL issues. Before that, my longest is about three months.

I must be getting patient in my old age; I've been continuously active in the current bait since early March - that's four months.

In my early practices runs I found it quite enjoyable to just flat out insult the lad emailing me, so however long it takes to write an uber offensive email about his father making love to a demented goat which then gave birth to him was the shortest.

I have since knuckled down and my longest is just clocking up the 3 month mark... which I'm relatively chuffed with Smile

My longest and my first bait is 3,5 weeks and still running
my shortest bait only lasted a few hours.

Shortest: Never responded to my initial mail (x many)
Next shortest: first message was "do not write me back" (x many of similar style)

Longest: started 8 October 2004 and still going. But less than 1000 emails in total, so you can see this is nothing like a continuous bait.

Shortest bait: Waking up a lad in the middle of their night just to play with them. After making many of these calls, I have found that the surest way to get them to wake up is to just call them and tell them you have the MTCN/MG number for them. It is amazing how quickly they scramble to write it down! Laughing

Or sending an ASEM just to get proof to shut down a fake site. All I need is the one scam email and I am done with them.

Longest bait: 6 months. It could have gone on much longer, but I lost interest. The lad kept sending me emails for another 2 months. Very Happy

Longest continuous bait: two years (almost as long as I've been here) Ray King/Juliet James We hit two years at the end of May. He's still on the hook. My mentee has been doing the baiting for the past month so I guess I can only claim the two year mark for my continuous baiting.

Shortest baits: Same as Dora; one email for evidence to close a fake site.

Other than Ray I had my jingle bell lad on the hook for about 6 months before I got bored and a lotto lad on the hook for about 4-5 months.

My longest bait is my first- which is still going! Started back in early April, before I even joined Eater. I'm getting rather bored of her now, though, so I don't anticipate it lasting more than another few weeks unless I can get her to introduce some new and exciting characters.

Shortest effective bait was a 1-day one which netted me a bank account AND a fake banking site which I then killed. That was a rather bad day for one Lad, but I couldn't be bothered baiting him any further as he was pretty dull.

Longest was 2.5 years. It involved 6 tattoos, 11 safaris for about 5,000 miles, several lad to lad meetings, an attempt to tear down a TWAT pyramid built by another lad and over 100 pics. He was well missed. He was my second lad ever.

I had one bait go for 393 days (thus the hourglass in my signature).

I've had one go longer than that, but since the lad took three months off I can't claim an hourglass for that one.

Longest? Well...Ahmed (4RK) from Ghana. First contact June 26th 2007. It was only Sunday a week ago we could hear him sing a very (very!) uninspired version of "Billie Jean" on Dan´s "ScamBaiters" radio show.

Second longest is the Reverend Usman who still has not given up selling to a bunch of banlieue schoolkids a multi--million dollar ATM card. Now he has introduced another character (Barrister Fred), who deals with kangaroos...all in all, 13 painful months of the silliest stuff imaginable, and a lad who swallows all but being unimaginative at the same time so that it is actually an insult recommending him for easy baiting...but he has been easy, never dropping anyone.

Shortest - all the other 99,999%. "Shortest" does not mean "most disappointing". disappointing is when you plan stuff with others for weeks and then it does not turn out to work. Well, since you usually get another chance, there is no use crying over spilled milk, though ThankGod was worth a tear or two...claimed he went to Kumasi and no proof! Grrrrr!
