In 1980 the Scottish city of Glasgow banned the showing of the Monty Python movie “The Life of Brian”. Apparently they wanted a cheaper ticket price.

Now the City has seen the light and the movie will finally be shown.

But Python gets the last laugh – the movie is in English and as anybody who has been to Glasgow knows, the Glaswegians don’t speak that language.

In a recent interview of Mungo McDougall, City Art Critic, by the Canadian newspaper “The Fokitscold Daily”, Mr. McDougall at first expressed disapproval at being interviewed about the lifting of the ban.

FD – Mungo, will you be attending the opening?

MM - Ghetti faa ya bassa!!

FD – I understand you will be receiving free tickets.

MM - Id be in aboot it like a dug wi a burst baw!

When pressed for more information Mr. McDougall cautioned that the interviewer could end up “wi a face like a well skept erse”.

The interview was terminated.

It's unfortunate I have to pass through some of the rougher parts on the way to work!
