Well, let's keep the story short. 3 days ago I begin to receive undelivered mails in one of my yahoo accounts. Apparently some lad managed to forge the mail headers, and specified in Reply To me own personal e-mail address. Yahoo said there is nothing they could do about it.
Bugger, even the mails I sent to those addresses come to ME!
For now, 3 different e-mail addresses, on the server of University Hassan II, Mohammedia, Morocco. Mailed the university, but no answer so far.
Here are the offending addresses:
"mohamed nohair" <[email protected]>
"wafae karzazi" <[email protected]>
"omar atita" <[email protected]>
More than 1000 undelivered mails in 3 days... Who knows how many real addresses they hit?
Is there any way to stop those basterds?

How on earth did the lad get your own personal email address?

The only other thing I can think of, on the spur of the moment, is to set up an email rule that redirects any emails from those three addresses (and the others the lad will no doubt add, depending on how much grief you've given him) straight into the trash bin or deletes them, depending on what your email client allows.

I had a mugu get really angry at me, and he wound up getting one of my baiter email addresses flooded with returned email. I planned on abandoning the account anyway, so I did.

But not before warning potential victims who answered the mugu's original spiel with an email. I must have gotten about 20 people who now won't fall for this mugu's script.

That yahoo account is one of my baiting addresses.
Well, for those scammers... AFAIK university mail accounts are not free. You cannot simply join in. You must be a member (student/teacher/administrative staff) and you must ask the postmaster to make you one.
I shall mail again University Hassan II and tell them about their security holes. In the mean time, I have more than 1000 returned mails, and probably more than that people who think I sent scam mails to them.

Some angry lad did the same thing to Carlisle not long ago. He (Carlisle) opened his box and found over 100,000 failure notices.

Someone spoofed the address of one of my catcher accounts and flooded it with undelivered or no-replies for his cheque mule scam message - took weeks to clear out.

However, I got my revenge when manbiteslion arranged for a massbait on the maggot... and did him some damage.

I upset a lotto lad a while back.

This was about 2 weeks worth of flak and would have been around the 300k mark by month's end.

@KS, I currently have a similar problem to yours with one of my gmail accounts. A spammer has spoofed the from address so it appears the spam originates from my gmail account. Gmail are aware of it but can't stop it. Perhaps blocking delivery from the offending email addresses may help stem the tide?

Well, here comes my Monty Python's: always look on the bright side of life!
We all know lads are lazy; it appears I really pissed one of them, so, even if I have 1000 failed deliveries in my junk folder (annoying), it still means I done a god job harrasing the lads.

Also, remember this.

Many times real victims reply to your address. Some have vacation autoresponders (you can tell them to ignore the previous email - that would work) others are understanding - either which way, victims are out of the picture, so that is a good thing.

All the mails sent directly to this address "wafae karzazi" <[email protected]> are redirected to me. The headers show Morocco, this is normal considering those mails are sent from University Hassan II accounts.

I do a lot of insult baiting from two of my Gmail accounts and I have had both of them "spoofed" by angry G men several times.. It doesn´t seem to do any damage to the account however as I keep these accounts active.

The only downside is that you cant find anything in the junkemail folder where all failed deliveries show up. They usually give it up and leave the account alone after a few days, depending on how angry they are Very Happy

Anyways, it has happened to me maybe 6 times and gmail never shut the account down. When I am not sending anything myself I have changed the sender name on the account to "internet scammer" . I dont really know how spoofing works so I hope that with some luck it will show up as sender in any victims email.

I hope I will be able to shut down the above mentioned mailboxes, with University Hassan II's assistance. I do not think they are kind to scammers using the university's mail server.

^^^ Had the same thing happen to one of my email addys one day last week. It stopped after a day and hasn't come back.
Must have been a "mad lad".

Just get yourself some filters working, drink a hot tea and weather the storm.
I never had an account closed because of too many mails arriving and a hot cup of tea is good thing to relax while the scammer is boiling Wink

Set up your filters to trash the demon messages. I've got one account that averages 21K/month. Not in the league of Seven of Nine but I can still work the email in the account.
