If I was you I'd take some time to read the rules.
We don't do or discuss cash baiting here.
Waiting for a passing Mod to lock the thread. |

Stander, I have a very hard time believing a lad even thought about sending you $200.00. But even if he did, and though the money didn't come to you, it is still cash baiting. And like B8er says, we don't do that here.
We welcome everyone here at Eater, but maybe you need to slow down a bit, read the stickies that explain who we are and what we do here and have plenty of excellent advice. Also you can sign up for a wonderful mentor to help guide you through the baiting experience. And don't forget to check out all the information in Eater U!
And last thing. You don't need to double post within minutes. You can just use the handy 'Edit' button to make additions to your posts. A mod will thank you. |

Ok.
Although I will never understand why it is ethical to make lads spend money on trips hundred miles away from their homes but is not ethical to make him send cash to non-existent persons.
By the way, I haven't noticed the EDIT button |

If you don't intend on picking up the money, which I hope you didn't in the first place, then PM the WU transfer information to a moderator. They'll make sure it gets taken care of by WU. He'll be really, really pissed when that money is gone. |

Just because he's sent the money to a made up name doesn't mean that the money can't be collected. Lads regularly ask for money to be WU'd to 'John Smith' in London.
The fact is that with the sender's name, the MTCN and the test question/answer the money can be collected with out much difficulty anywhere in the world. |

See that's the thing, in this great sticky by Shiver himself explains it much better than I can or will:

I think that is illegal, no?
If an WU transfer is unclaimed, in 3 three days he'll get his money back, minus transfer fee.
But making money disappear ... I don't think it is legal |

Right, but if Western Union confiscates it due to suspicion of fraud, then he really is going to be angry. |

Never heard before of that. It seems impossible.
No bank officer in my country will give anyone a penny is receiver's name and name in passport are different.
Strange that in other country it is possible. |

I am an ignorant sort of person, and I don't really know the law at all. But I don't think it is a crime to say 'Meet me at the lampost at the end of the street' (or at the airport in the next country) and then not turn up. Is it ethical? You decide. If a Lad is at the lampost at the end of the street (or at the airport far away), then he is certainly not scamming other victims at that time. And that is ethics enough for many.
But I rather think it is against the law, and certainly against all ethics, to say, 'Give me so much money and then I will give you tenfold (or a thousandfold) more' when it is not true.
And I think that when one is engaging with criminals, it is very important to keep within the law (and ethics) oneself.
(And I typed this slowly and others said similar before me, but I'm in talkative mood, so I'm posting it anyway.) |

The problem is though with Western Union, you aren't neccesarily dealing with banks. In many countries (the UK included), Western Unions are located in newsagents and other types of stores. The shopkeeper won't want the hassle of denying a payment and if anyone queries it, who can prove that he didn't see an ID. |

Even if he sends money to non-existing persons?
Even if the scammer will get his money back in 3 days because they will stay unclaimed?
I am really sure that all that 3 days he will be very nervous and certainly he will not be able to scam anyone.

Thank god I am in a country where only banks have the right to handle WU payments. And valid ID is a must.
That's why scammers will never operate from my country |

Honestly Stander, what is your deal? You want to start arguing ethics? You want to argue with members that do know what they are talking about?
How about this: It is crappy to go back and delete your posts. There was no reason for you to do that. However, you want to continue to carry on a conversation that directly related you what you originally posted. Kinda hard to do.
And there is no need to double post and quote the person directly above you. Really.
Now I am crabby. I need coffee. I hate being crabby. |

I am sorry if I am doing something wrong I never intended to argue, I just did not correctly understood the rules.
I am new on this site, on other resources I used before there were another rules.
As a sign of my good intentions, here's my own small database of lads that can be successfully baited:
http://opentechnet.net/419/
Please feel free to PM for any details you want if you want to bait some of these people. |

Alright then, as the OP said PM him if you want further details.
I am going to lock this now, mainly because the OP rendered this thread confusing by editing the his first post. |
