i have been sent an acutal form by one of my scammers and i have been told to fill it in . i have bought myself some time by sending an out of office message owing to the english bank holiday . remnd me how i aviod to send back the form . i think i am so sleepy right now rational thought is beyond me ! the only thing i can come upwith is shred the document

Actually anything where you don't have to do any work. You don't own a scanner, your pencil broke and you don't have another one in the house, etc...

Perhaps you can't print it, could he fax you a copy (get a free uk fax number from efax)? Oh dear it comes through all fuzzy could he resend it?

A large .dll file with the same name as the file he sent you will suffice methinks. Wink

As said above, a large junk file (.dll, but with care, or try WriteJunk - see my signature). Say you've included all your details and added some proof of identity.

If he says he can't open it, send it again with the extension changed to .bmp, then .jpg, then .tif, then .pdf, each time grumbling about having to "...go to the copy shop 5 miles away to use their scanner, and it opens OK on the PC in the copy shop as the nice man behind the counter showed you so it must be his PC,...." etc, etc.

Then, when he finally accepts it (which he will, in all probability, as he wants to get to the cash), whenever he asks for any details, passport, etc. later in the bait, you can say he's had it and seen it as it was all in the big file you sent him, which he must have read, surely?.

Sending forms is the thin end of the wedge. It's easy enough to do to get the bait moving, but it becomes so much harder to avoid the next demand, such as sending your passport. Tell him you don't have a scanner. If he tells you to go to the Internet Cafe or Office shop, tell him the proprietor refused to scan the form and told you that the lad was a scammer. You're still on the hook, but make him terrified of telling you to do that again.

The lad will need some of the information on the form to fill in his certificates, so give him all the info in text, and tell him to fill it in himself. He will probably refuse at that point, but it will be easier to eventually avoid it.
