Out of my usual morning dozens of scam emails, this one caught my eye. I've not seen it before and it's beyond dumb. Has anyone else received this?

back USA.

I have been so busy because we are trying to set up a factory here with the mo
ney we received.

Wow. This is absolutely a new one on me! I mean, I've seen all the "victim compensation" type formats, but this is something completely different.

Just to see how widespread this one is, I did a quick google check. I only found it in one place, on someone's blog:

I'm wondering if it's lads trying to chop each other. I mean, it would only work on someone who previously has been hit with the "contract payment" scam. On the other hand, it could be an effective method for reviving a stalled scam with a victim who lost money or quit believing...this could be a way for a lad to get their victim to start believing again, to accept that there really WAS a "contract payment" but he was just dealing with the wrong people.

Can you post this over at Scamwarners? Better to have it out there in more than one place, where other potential vics might google it and see it.

In the meantime, are you going to bait him? If not, let me know - I'd like to take a crack at it.

Yes, I've gotten lots of "compensation" letters too, but never one like this.

PLEASE bait this one! Shouldn't be hard, since the lad seems not too bright - couldn't even get a legit address in IL.

I seem to remember a similar modality being run by some scammers a few years ago as victims were exposed to the fraud on the internet..

The lads were in for a 'double dip' as it were..

Tell him you're French and in your language, "Ma Toto" means "Dear One".
