Well do you?

Obviously you use other accounts for different characters in a bait and whatnot, but for a straight bait do you just bait directly from the email account you got the original email from?

I ask this because I've gotten a general vibe that people have a catcher account separate to their baiting emails, and I'm wondering if there's any particular reason as to why.

At the moment I'm catching and baiting with the one account, but I've only recently started. Should I expect something to go awry if I don't start baiting from another account?

Well, if you just seeded your catcher acct, then I can see you thinking it's ok and you'll have no problems with this...I have, as I am sure many before me, learned(the hard way Razz ) that things get insane fast. See, once you seed your account out there, every lad and their brother is going to want a piece of you, and soon you are going to have 30, 50, 100 emails a day rolling into your account. Trying to find your bait amongst that mess is very distracting and gets old fast.

What? You're going to use labels? Ah, that's ok...well until your lad switches email addresses. Wink

I would say go ahead since you started the bait, but if it does get too overwelming, you can always set up another account and switch your bait to there. I'm willing to bet your pet doesn't even notice the difference, but if he does, you can say something about someone was getting in and you can then set up for the dolla chop too. Have fun!

It's funny, that's precisely what I was thinking right up until I read that.

Anyway, most of the emails go directly to the Spam folder, whilst I keep my baits in the Inbox.

There's always a search function if my lad changes his email address mid-bait, I doubt he's going to change his name too.

I suppose I'm in no real position to argue, I don't have all that much experience with this. I just fail to see how it could be that big of a problem.

Maybe it depends on numbers. Each of my baiting accounts has the email address in one known Lad-collecting spot only. So I only get a limited amount of scam mails coming in: up to about 20 a day for the first few days, then they trail off and off until it is just 2 or 3 a day.

So I can also bait out of them just fine. They are all catcher accounts really, though, because when I receive a new scam mail that I fancy, I decide which of my characters would be most suited to answer this one, and 'give' it to them.

I don't want to guess the number - But, lad, isn't that the best fun to be had with MoneyGram reference numbers?

You are right, GD, most do go to the spam folder now. When I first started, gmail wasn't filtering as well(or maybe they weren't checking for scams as much) but now they do seem to stay out of the inbox unless you reply to that address.

So I suppose it could work, but then you can't bait anyone named soludo or another common lad name cause if they switch emails, you'll never find them again. Laughing

Well, either way you go, good luck and make those lads suffer! Twisted Evil
