Buck's seven month bait - US soldier, Iraq, money

Cowboy Buck finally met the Thief of Baghdad, and he's an American!

Sgt. Anthony Orton found some money in Iraq and decided to keep it.
But he needed help in getting it out of Iraq.
Cowboy Buck rode to the rescue with blazing MTCN's.

I converted the emails to HTML and posted them here at this link:

http://members.419eater.com/~cowboybuck/publish/post_anthonystandard.htm

I found the original email in the Eater Surplus forum.

I baited these lads from September 4, 2008 to April 6, 2009, a seven-month period.

I had to use lots of excuses for not sending money to these lads, things like
plane crashes, brush fires and snowstorms.

The banker swore that he was not involved with Bernard Madoff, the New York Ponzi
scheme swindler. He even sent me a signed statement to that effect.

Twisted Evil

Subj: We are still here fighting the brush fire

Dear Sgt. Anthony Orton;

We are still here fighting the brush fire here.

The firefighters were finally able to get to the crash scene, but they could
not determine what kind of small airplane that it was, so now the Federal
Avaition Administration people are here, also some military people.

It is possible that the airplane was military, because we have been told to
limit communications with the outside.

Needless to say, I have not been able to leave the ranch while all this is
happening.

Please bear with me, I will make the payment as soon as the fire is put out,
the outsiders leave, and I can leave the ranch.

Sincerely,

George Jones

Subj: We have been quite busy the last two weeks

Dear Mr. David Duffy

Thank you for your email and the information.

We have been quite busy the last two weeks fighting a brush fire
here at the ranch.

Something crashed about three miles away, and with the dry ground
conditions, started a fire.

The firefighters have not been able to get to the crash scene, but
they suspect that it was a small airplane.

Needless to say, I have not been able to leave the ranch while all
this is happening.

Please bear with me, I will make the payment as soon as the fire is
put out and I can leave the ranch.

Sincerely,

George Jones

This happens once or twice each winter and we just have to wait for the road

Dear Mr. David Duffy

I was very busy this past weekend dealing with a major problem which
is beyond my control.

We had another snowstorm here at the ranch on Saturday and the road is blocked
with snow again.

The road people have told me that the road into the ranch may be cleared
tomorrow.

We have had to hire a private snow-plowing company because the county
does not clear these remote roads, but only the main roads and streets.

We live and work in a pretty remote area, and being somewhat isolated,
we have to be self-sufficient.

We do keep stores of food and water on hand, along with gasoline, oil,
and equipment, so we are allright here.

I may be able to get to San Bernadino and to the bank on Tuesday.

Please bear with me as I work with this difficult situation.

George Jones

Mr. Georges Jones,

what is the meaning of your question? your not a soldier either in the front of
war, is never your concern ok is that the question that i ask you twice that you
refused to question me or insurance fee that you surposed to send to the bank so
that we can move ahead?.

Despite that am paying you $2.5m United States Dollars for your assistant if
your not interested you tell me ok to enable me make alternative arrangement ok.

Honestly am not happy the way your handling this transaction for me ok becuase
the transaction should be priority to you but the way your handling it is too
poor.

This fund was surposed to be in your Account by now but i dont know what is the
problem again.

You promise to settle with the Bank as soon as the Bank resume office for the
year 2009 but all these delay?.

Subj: Answer a simple question

Dear Sgt. Anthony Orton;

If you do not want to answer a simple question, that is Okay, but it
leads to less trust between us if we can not be open with each other.

Again, I am sorry for the delays but they are not my fault.

Our ranch is 40 miles from the nearest town of San Bernardino,
and there is only one road from the ranch which goes into the town.

We are not wealthy and do not have helicopters like on television.

When the road is blocked by snow, I can not get into town to do business.

We expect to have the road cleared within a day or two.

Sincerely,

George Jones

Mr. Georges Jones,

Thanks for your message; I was extremely annoyed with you that are my reason of
not answering your question.

We supposed to be open with each other but due to your delays that makes me to
be annoyed because these transaction was supposed to be concluded by now.

Since you expect the road to cleared within a day or two,try your possible best
to make it.

Again, how much will be enugh for this ranch Business?

It was the New Embassy in Baghdad Iraq which is the Biggest Embassy in the world.

The Embassy of the United States in Baghdad is the diplomatic mission of the
United States in Iraq. It is located in Baghdad and is home to the Ambassador to
Iraq, currently Ryan Crocker.

A new embassy, which has been described as the largest and most expensive
embassy in the world, was opened in January 2009 after a series of construction
delays. It replaced the embassy, which opened July 1, 2004 in the Baghdad's
Green Zone in a former Palace of Saddam Hussein.

Best Regards

Dear Mr. David Duffy

Thank you so much for accepting the $5000 rather than the $15000.

I believe that I can obtain the money by next Monday at the latest,
and will send it to your Ms. Mary Jones in Manchester.

For the record, what is the address of the Western Union office in Manchester
that I will be sending the money to?

Sincerely,

Mr. George Jones,

Mr. David Duffy was annoyed due to your question that might be the reason why he

Dear Mr. David Duffy

I asked you for the address of the Western Union office in Manchester where I will
be sending the money to.

You sent me Ms. Mary Jones address; does she work in the Western Union office?

I want to make sure that the money gets to Ms. Mary Jones personally, so I would
need to know which Western Union office to send it to, as there are probably many
offices in Manchester, which is a big city, isn't it?

Please advise.

Dear Mr. David Duffy;

Things are not going well at the ranch.

Normally, my cowboys do not carry guns, but most own pistols and keep them
in their quarters.

Yesterday afternoon, two of my men got drunk and engaged in an "old west"
gunfight, unfortunately with live ammunition. One of the men was seriously
injured and was taken to the hospital in San Bernadino with a gunshot wound
to his arm. He is expected to recover, but is still in the hospital.
I spent yesterday afternoon and all day today in town at the police station
and at the hospital dealing with paperwork. I did not have any time to visit
the bank, but also with all of the police around, I could not make any large
financial transaction without someone noticing.

I may be able to send the money to your Mary Jones tomorrow or Monday, but
since you have asked for confidentiality, I will have to go outside of
San Bernardino to do it.

George Jones

I know that you are a respected US soldier in Iraq and I never doubted your
ability or honesty.

We haven't really talked yet, I have given you the basic details of my life
but nothing personal except business-related stuff.

I have been working with cattle and ranches since I was a kid, growing up on
the Bar-20 Ranch in Texas, where I was born. I have worked at ranches in
Texas, Arizona, and California, except when I was in the Army from 1976 to 1978.

I currently work for the Sundance Ranch near San Bernadino, California, which
is in the mountains in the southern part of the state between Los Angeles
and Arizona. The nearest town is San Bernadino, but it is over 40 miles away,
and the road from the ranch to town is not paved but gravel and rock, so it takes
two to three hours to drive from the ranch to San Bernadino.

The ranch is owned by a Colonel Bentley Dawson of Dallas Texas. He is a
multi-millionaire who owns oil and ranching businesses in several US states.
He is not really a Colonel, that is a title that wealthy Texans use sometimes.

I have always had hopes of buying my own ranch if I ever got the money, that is
why replied to Mr. Felix George's original letter in December.

We do not get paid very much here, so that is why I have not sent out any money,
but we are expecting some more money, when an old gold mine on the Sundance
property is sold to investors. The ranch owner has asked me to look for investors
for the mine, and I have told him I would help out the ranch with our mine project.

Sincerely,

George Jones

Dear Sgt. Anthony Orton;

Ok, have Mr. David Duffy of Standard Bank contact me, we will see what
we can work out this time, but please ask him to be more cooperative and less
ordering.

There is enough money in the ranch funds to pay him but I want to make sure that
he is in agreement with us before I send him or his bank any money.

Subj: Bank account

Dear Mr. David Duffy;

Does your Ms. Mary Jones have a bank account that I can send the money to?

I do not feel safe using the local Western Union offices.
San Bernardino is a small town and people know each other, that is, the
clerks at the Western Union offices know me as they are both members
of my church. They would ask me why I am sending money to a woman in England,
whether she was my "girlfriend" or whatever.

I could send the money to a bank account using one of the larger banks in
the area as they have more employees and most do not know me.

If you do not want me to send it to her using a bank transfer, I could send
the money in cash, US $100 bills, by registered mail, that would only take a week,
and would get the money to your Ms. Jones.

Sincerely,

George Jones

Dear Sgt. Anthony Orton;

I really want to help you get what is coming to you but it is taking some time to raise
the money and get time to come into town which is 40 miles from the ranch and requires
several hours to drive the long distance over very bad roads with holes in them and rocks
and rattlesnakes and all kinds of things which go bump into my pickup truck which is
hauling cattle as an excuse to my employees for my trips into town which is small and
where everyone knows everyone.

However, things are looking up.

We have an old gold mine located on the property which we plan to re-open because the price
of gold has gone higher.

We are trying to attract investors for the mine which operated very successfully during
the 1880's and 1930's as a working gold mine.

Do you know of anyone who might like to invest in a "sure thing"?

Please write to me as soon things will be better.

Further to your mail, the British Bank told me that the MTCN you send didn't
