Well here he is boys and girls, the infamous Mr. John Gelsthorp!

It all started with a general Nigerian scam letter received on the office Fax Machine. I said, oh let me have some fun with it. Hilarity ensued and not before long, I had a bite!

I will admit I created a false name and email to do all of this, which I don't feel the least guilty about. I think Ill try and start to piss off as many scammers as I can and then turn them all in. God it's fun.

Anyhow, here is the loser:

---

Here is the first email I sent the scammer:

Dear Mr. Gelsthorp.

My name is Richard Calavera, and I read through the fax received early this morning. I would have gotten back to you sooner however it has been a rather busy day here in the office.

I see you are a family man. There is no greater responsibility than that of fatherhood so you must be a hardworking and trustworthy man. Yes indeed, trust is a very important factor when it comes to dealing in business. One can never me too careful these days especially when it comes to financial transactions. You can tell a lot about a man just by looking at what he does and how he conducts his life, and the things he owns, like bank checks. My checks have pictures of kittens on them. Kittens are cute, but they have claws like a ferocious animal, so that means I’m nice, but strong of mind.

Anyways on to business. 37,800,000 pounds is an awful lot of money and of curse I am very interested in this deal. In USD that equates to $53316875.31 by today’s exchange rate. Even 25% of that figure is $10663375.06 which is enough to create a nest egg, especially in these dire times of economic crisis. I could invest this money into stocks and bonds, and even into pie. You like pie right? Everybody likes pie. You’d have to be a communist to not like pie. Communists don’t like pie because pies don’t taste like vodka.

What information would you be needing from me to get this transaction rolling along? Please let me know as soon as you are able to as I am very excited about this deal!

Yours truly,

Richard Calavera

Second email, after no bite from him a day or two later:

Good morning sir.

I am very sad to see that there was no reply this morning in my email, nor any faxes from you.

I'd very much like to engage in this financial transaction with you.

Please respond as soon as you can!

Well good day to you.

It is indeed nice to hear back from you.

I'm still very interested in this financial transaction, however I am a little worried about providing my banking details to you. Could we instead use some sort of escrow service?

Good day sir.

I have been on a lengthy business trip over the past week so I have been unable to check my personal email.

I do not like the ton of voice you are using. How dare you insinuate that I am using 'tricks'.

I'm not so sure I should be doing business with someone who is so rude, and whom uses all capital letters, which we in the states consider 'yelling' at another.

Please one thing you should know and understand is that I have trust in you that is why I am putting this money to your account. Sir, please I want you to restore our old love and trust so that we will conclude this transaction in good faith without further delays.

Good day friend.

Everything appears to be in order so it looks like I should be able to arrive in London on April the 7th. As I am going to London I will not need any VISAs any my passport was already undergoing renewal so I will be receiving it within the next week or so.

Where in London would be a good spot to meet? I've only been once, so I'm not very familiar with the city. What about a place thats easy to find like Big Ben, or did you have another place in mind?

Hello once again friend!

Everything appears to be set for April the 7th. I am actually staying at a hotel right around the corner from London Euston Railway station so that would probably be the most ideal place to meet. I believe there are some places to eat around there where we could get lunch and discuss our venture.

Dear friend, that is excellent news.

See we are very much alike. We are both sent on business excursions at any given time!

My only dislike of business trips is that it takes time away from the family. You children and wife must hate it when you have to go out of town. I know mine do.

Dear Mr. Richard,

Sorry for my late reply. Please note that I have been working on some very important assignment for our bank. The assignment took me outside our station.

Thank you so much for your kind effort towards this transaction. Based on our agreement to finalize this transaction, I strongly believe that you are ready to follow up my instruction for the betterment of this transaction.

We have an important conference in Malaysia, Spain and London. I shall ask my personal assistance where he will get opportunity to meet you by next month as you stated. With all hope that you will get much opportunity to arrange for your trip soonest.

My good friend, you should forward your home address and cell phone number for moral discussion. Are you a citizen of American? If yes, you don't need to apply for any visa before traveling out side American. Because American citizens are permitted to travel all over the world without any visa.

Take note: in my next mail, I shall inform you exactly where you will meet my personnel assistance, so that you will get ready to meet him for fruitful discussion. Take proper care of yourself for me okay.

Thanks and god continue to bless us

Yours sincerely

John, what in God's name are you talking about?

You NEVER informed me that the meeting was cancelled, and we never discussed meeting in Malaysia. I only received an email that clearly was intended for someone else the other day regarding that our business was finalized.

At this point I've already spent the money on the trip and can't cancel so I will be there. If you still want to do business you had best show up as well. I only do business in person and I can't change my itenerary on such short notice. I was even going to treat you to dinner at a first class resturaunt near the hotel to celebreate.

Dear Mr. Richard,

I am totally disappointed, if we don’t trust each other at this earlier stage.

I have already told you that our conference meeting in London has been cancelled.

It is not my fault but you suppose to understand that I worked under financial institution and I must obey the rules and regulation of our banking policy.

Bear in mind that I don't have any authority to change our bank policy because of our transaction business. I must be very careful to deal any transaction business with you, so that I will not fall into a victim. Take note that our bank staffs doesn't know anything about our transaction business except my personnel assistance that was in Malaysia for conference meeting.

Now I want you to tell me, if you are still willing to meet the diplomat agent in Malaysia and collect the consignment as next of kin. Any way, my personnel assistance shall help you to lodge the money in any bank over there. You don't need to attend any fear again. I hope that everything is quite clear.

Thanks for your understanding

John, I trust you will still be there on the 7th, which is next Tuesday.

I am leaving for London tonight.

I will meet you on the London Euston Railway Station main platform, at 15:30. I will be wearing a black business suit with a red tie.
I expect to see you there. We will go have dinner and discuss business, and I'll buy us a round of drinks to celebrate the transaction.

-Richard
--

Instead of the main platform lets plan on meeting at the Virgin trains information point.
This looks like it will be less crowded and easier for us to find one another.

Dear John.

You sir are such a liar. Not once did you tell me that the London trip had been cancelled. I don't know what you are talking about with Malaysia. I never agreed to meet there and we never talked about it! I have no intentions of providing you with 2,000 dollars of my hard earned cash to cart your sorry ass over here! I spent time and money to meet you, and even offered to buy you dinner and drinks and this is how you repay me? FOR SHAME!

I am leaving to come home tonight now and I don't know that I want to keep doing any kind of business with you. You have lost my trust.

Dear Richard/Frank,

I have seen your mail and I am very happy for your willingness to assist me pull this deal for real. I need to let you understand that I can not carry out this alone as reassures at my disposal now are limited. What I am trying to say is that, I would not be able to carry it all. And that was why I contacted you in the first place.

Please note that I have been contacted from Mr. Frank my dear. However, I will appreciate your timely response if you can handle this transaction as the most important project now. You will help me to provide an account number where you want this fund to be remitted, your private telephone number for easy communication and more explain.

I will initiate the moves by paying all the taxes here and making available all the documents needed in this transaction from by department as well as from other areas. All you need to do for will be to assist me when, I could not carry on, just a little assist which you will equally take back when this fund is finally transferred into your nominated account in your country before proper sharing. Remember that you will retime %35 of the total sum of £37.8m.

Please try to send to me your telephone and Frank also telephone/fax number for proper directive. Finally, I hope that you will help me to keep this business secret because of my position in my ministry.

I am waiting now to read from you so that I will start making some applications.

Best regards,
A/c. John Gelsthorp

N/B: Please note that I can be reach on my private telephone number: +234 - 80 - 6878 1291.
