Her last threat follows below:

Isn't there anywhere we can denounce this individual to some sort of authorities as this is real fraud?

Unfortunately, "she" is sitting somewhere in Africa (I didn't notice whether you had the headers) in an internet cafe and is virtually impossible to prosecute for this scam. Getting to the credit card and bank account is the best way you can hurt the scammer.

Don't be surprised if your next email is a threatening email from the "FBI" at "[email protected]" or something equally idiotic. Lads seem to love to pretend to be law enforcement Smile

If this scammer is communicating with you at a real business and he has your information, it is probably best to stop this here. If you want to cut off this one, just tell "her" that you cannot refund any money because your bank called, told you the credit card was fraudulent, and they reversed the transaction. Tell her you have already contacted the authorities about the fraudulent transaction and if she attempts to harass you further she can be charged with fraud. Tell her that if she is certain the credit card was ok, she needs to contact her credit card company to sort it out.

Excellent! This is the kind of detail you forward to Alan our bank-account-killer. His address is ; forward the original email and the cancellation ones, plus the headers, and the one with the account details. Getting bank accounts closed is one way we can cause the Lads real pain - and you get a piggy bank icon for your sig line.

Yesterday I called the bank's fraud center. The account was still active even though I think someone at your side already contacted the bank?

The card was a fake, by the way....

It's possible that a lad had already given it to another baiter, who passed it onto Alan for action.
