I had my rings up for sale on Craigslist for $800.00------
See below on how this guy almost got me:

Good Day
The check was mailed with the sum of $3,000 to cover cost of your item and also shipment via Express Mail Delivery (EMS OF USPS).
The amount i placed is a refund for a canceled order, And been a refund it can only be written on a single check so that is why i want you to receive these amount.
You are to deduct $800 and send the difference of $2,200 to the address will be given to you.
I am in no rush with you. Once the bank verify and cash the check you will deduct your fund and send the excess fund.
Then ship the item via Express Mail Delivery (EMS OF USPS).The check will get to you 2-3 days so email me as soon as you have received the check so that i will send you the address to send the item and the excess fund that remain ok....

This is how my first hands-on experience w\ the internet scams went. I got a $3,500 check from some auto dealer in michigan, ups'd from pennsylvania ! and i was supposed to cash it and send the balance to them... hahaha
Thinking back, I should have done something w\ the check but i just shredded everything instead of handing it over to law enforcement. if you give it to law enforcement to investigate ( if they actually investigate ) it might help others from getting ripped off who know no better than to cash it. |

Yeah I still have each email that the person sent me and if I do receive a check or anything I'm handing it right over. Some good it'll do, I live in West Virginia, they're not too go-get-em as I would like. |
