Hey I'm creating an application for my University Final Major Project.
Im having a slight problem with trigonometry. I need to calculate the x,y coordinates of a point with only the angle and the distance from the origin.
Ive been reading up on trig to see if I can figure it out but it just wont come to me. Does anyone here know the equations I would need to use?
Any help would be extremely appreciated. |

From memory (back when dinosaurs ruled the earth) the tangent of an angle in a right angled triangle is the opposite side divided by the adjacent side, wont they be y and x?
Try here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigonometric_functions
ETA: Shoot, you only have the angle & the hypotenuse, but the answers there somewhere, try a bit of Pythagorus. (SP?) |

x = d * cos (a)
y = d * sin (a)
Code: |
y-----
| /|
| / |
| /d |
| / |
|/a |
+-----x
