I just got an email from an obvious amateur. He gave me a nice list of CCs. As I looked them over, I couldn't help but wonder if they are mostly baiter emails. Some of them look so baitish (e.g. sir topham hat, ladfreezone, etc.)

If you see one of your catchers (minus the domain, which I've kindly removed) you are already qualified to join your eater brethren in this business opportunity. If you weren't lucky enough to make this elite list, who gives a spunk? Write him a touching email anyhow.
On a side note, should I be drafting a letter to the CC list informing them he is riddled with 419-itis?

Hi mr.scissorkick!

If you get a list of CC names and think they are potential victims, the best thing to do is pass it on to one of the mods. They have their own super powers to deal with that information and have handled similar events in the past.

That is an unusual list of names; it's almost like he hit a baiter's guestbook, if such a thing existed. It would be nice to think that ladland is being proliferated with our addies.

Along what Dora said - exercise common sense in passing along huge lists of "CC'd" email addys. Our super powers only extend so far. If it's just a blast email with an initial format, then we're not going to do much with it (hundreds of thousands of people receive these each day; most delete them).

However, if you had a list of people who had advanced much further in a scam and were perhaps getting ready to send money or information which could lead to financial harm, then we could do more with that.

@mr.scissorkicks - did you change your email on that list to your 419eater nam? Or is that a name you are using to bait...only ask because if a lad happens to be smart enough to google you, it will lead here.

I use that as a catcher account. I only run one bait out of there and it'll be the last one because I lose his emails in the sea of ladmail.
