Akin to comfort foods, he was some sort of a, comfort voice. As a kid I remember his distinct voice on the scratchy AM radio in our kitchen, "Stand by for..... NEWS"!

Yes, I remember when I was younger I would always seem to catch him in the afternoon when he would tell us... "and now you know the rest of the story." Such a wonderful voice. |

I've only heard a few of his stories over the last couple years, but they were always entertaining. Like bluth, I'll always remember "... the reeeest of the story". |

Sad to see such a voice and inspitation leave. He lived a long time though. He also had a characteristic phrase of: "On Page 2...". He was like a comfort food. I did see him in person in the early 70s.

This makes me a very sad panda... I remember listening to Paul Harvey with my mom, and then listening to him on the way to and from work (depending on the shift).. Ahh another great loss in our time.
