This discussion is clearly not about global warming any more, which probably wasn't a great topic for Eater to begin with. I think we're done here.

Ehh...
We are off topic but this has just generally turned into a rant. I think this has been a rather interesting topic.

I'm not an expert, so I don't have a founded opinion whether (and to what effect) this global heating or weather change is a direct result of human polution and exhaust. However: When I see the massive deforestation of the rain forests or primeval forest in Asia / Africa and other area's that worries me to some effect. Aren't these the main suppliers of oxygen we badly need? For one thing I know SUV's with 8 liter engines are not.
Personally I think it's common sense to make people aware to be considerate with our environment, we will all outlive it, but why putting future generations up with problems that we have created?

What is the surplus value of wasting fossile fuels in enormous quantities? Why don't we use the energy supplies that are at hand all the time like wind and sun collectors on a much larger level? Why don't we use the hydrogen in water that's available in massive amounts to run our cars much more? That does not pollute the air.

"I think we're done here" means please stop posting. I didn't want to have to lock the thread, nor babysit it. I'll lock this now. Maybe another mod will feel like reading it and opening it back up for you.
