I have been sitting on this for a couple of days. If you apply to a certain job, you are contacted by a strange caller, then they confirm your information. You never hear from them again. The emails start to show up, including another person claiming that you are in the next stage of the employment opportunity.

Stage 1: Respond to this job posting: http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/job-JIHDLIN3J16;_ylt=ArkoSXXxMd8vXUEGImNTbS36Q6IX?source=SRP

You redirect to: http://extendyourcareers.com/joboffer/register.cfm?jobpositionid=83102

You can also find it by visiting hotjobs.yahoo.com and searching jobs for Security in Bridgeport, CT. On the left, click on "Bridgeport" and you will see Job Title: Security Company Name: Confidential. It was listed on Feb 09, 2009.

Stage 2: The redirect brings you to a fake job application, and a phone number will call you (1-646-520-0697) and verifies that your information is legitimate.

Stage 3: Upon confirming your information is legitimate, you will receive and email.

I am looking for General Warehouse Workers. The individual must have strong warehouse skills and have at least one year experience in an industrial environment. This position offers $10.00-$12.00/hour and includes full benefits, which we will discuss at the time of your interview.

To avoid being flooded with applications and responses, I have only extended this opportunity to a few qualified individuals. Your online resume caught my attention, and I would like to start the interview process as soon as I possibly can. I am looking forward to hearing from you today, if at all possible. By selecting the hyperlink below, you can view more information about the position, benefits offered, our company, and send in your application as an interested candidate.

I would like to learn more about the General Warehouse Worker opening.

I hope to receive your application later today!

Best Regards,

L. Barclay

Also to add,
This website ( http://elite-jobs-now.com ) is really: http://career-network.com

In this scam, they ask you several times if you want to attend college in the future. Eventually, I think the College/University/whatever is going to be unraveled in my inbox. Anyone that investigates this matter, should create accounts to receive information from them, then the one paying them to do this will surface. Could shut the entire operation down in a week, but knowing law enforcement, probably a couple years.

Multiple players in this scam.

Hope someone can do something about this.

-Rezo

Also, I apologize for not putting this in the proper format. There are many sites involved, and I prefer to post evidence of this cybercrime in it's entirety. If I find something that is 1 site and direct, I can post it in the proper format. This was just a little bit involved.

Thanks for understanding Smile

Hi Rezo, Is this phishing or scamming? Do you know? Are they just trying to get your personal information or is there someplace along the line where you are asked to send money?

It is a phishing attack. Appears to be the same organization that has been using the false employment data to phish. You must remember, money will go to the owner of the phishing attack, so fraud is definitely involved.

Rezo: It's great to note phishing, but if you look here: http://forum.419eater.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=157288 and check this part out:

We just don't deal with them here in this forum.

Very Happy

I tried reporting some of it to IC3, but no idea what to do now, as I usually don't do this kind of stuff.

Correct. It's phishing, often combined with consumer-, employment- and franchise scams. Based in Orlando, Florida.

Started out with a database, stolen from fraudster Lou Pearlman by former associate Alec Defrawy in 2003. http://www.google.com/search?q=eyemodel+difrawi

First years they mainly targeted wannabe models, dancers and musicians, later added wannabe reporters. Changing company names several times a year, to name a few: Scout, Impact 210 Worldwide, Toospoiled, USAVoice, Worldvoice News (aka BuzzGrub) a.o..

Evolved via InstantHumanResources.com and Internet Solutions Corp into targeting job seekers in general. Current main operational sites are Three Stars Inc. threestarsinc.com, Career Network career-network.com and Power Applications powerapplications.com.
