I work in a law office that provides assistance to low-income rural residents. I received a call this morning from a gentleman who was a victim of a check scam. Obviously I've heard repeatedly about check scams. But he said that he received this check from Reader's Digest. I haven't heard that one before. Has anyone else? He had to send the money to someone in the US which makes me think there's a second victim in this scheme.

^^ Nice find HarvestMoon

Lads love to use real business names to try to make their scam look authentic. I've baited a few check lads and have quite a collection of fake checks and visa money orders, some horrible and some I'd swear were authentic if I didn't know they came from a lad.
