I'm a lazy scambaiter

Thought I'd start a bit of scambaiting, so made a few replies on the lads' claimed guestbooks ("mugu dey here", etc). Next day, BAM - I get a quadrillion people telling me they want to give me 20% to 35% (depending on how generous they're feeling) of however many gazillion dollars they need to transfer. Replied to a few asking for a phone number, got a few replies back today, but it was all getting a bit boring so I just replied to them all with a copy-and-paste message telling them to visit my 'business website' which lists all my contact details. Want to know what my 'business website' is?

Do you guys often do this sort of baiting?

I really wouldn't call that baiting. Baiting is about wasting scammer's time and distracting them from real victims. Sending a link like that just tells them instantly that they can ignore you and move on. You can be sure they get plenty of stuff like that from annoyed people and angry victims. It won't phase them at all.

To me baiting is more than trying to annoy the scammer. It is pulling them into a relationship that wastes their time and makes them want to keep in contact with you so that they are not taking money from real victims. Baiting is a skill set that you develop and it is addictive and you gain self satisfaction by knowing that you have distracted a professional criminal from stealing from other people. Cool

Hmmm, do you think I could convince a lad to double click on an .exe ? Oh I could write something that would really fuck up his machine.

Oh ye, t'was wize that one of the mods removed the link to my 'business website', for those of you who were curious I shall describe it to you. First of all the browser window is re-sized to about the size of a youtube video and positioned in one corner of your screen, next a video starts to play, of three old men in a shower fondling each other, it has a catchy tune by the way. Then it jumps to each corner and some random messages pop up, but you cannot close it.

I got a reply from one of the lads who I referred to my 'business website', it had an annoyed tone to it, so I think he may have clicked the link but I'm not sure, anyhow I replied to that to make sure he clicks it.

Maybe I'll persue some more lengthy baits when I get some more fresh 419's, I quite like the idea of a trophy, 't would look nice on the wall of my bedroom.

Not recommended at all - a majority of scammers use internet cafes and the like; sending stuff to damage their computers won't do them any harm.

That would fall within the realm of sending a virus, which is illegal, and therefore is not acceptable discussion on this forum.
I'd suggest you read up on the rules here, so you'll know what subjects are allowed for discussion.

You know what I think would look nicer? A calendar with every day crossed off that you've managed to keep some scammer writing to you and not writing to that person who thinks they've won a lottery, or thinks they've got an inheritance, or thinks they are helping an orphan or widow, or thinks they've found the love of their life.

That would look really nice.
