With less than two weeks until the big game I think it is time we started discussing the biggest sporting event of the year. The Arizona Cardinals will clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Tampa Bay on February 1st.

I cannot decide who I am going to root for. As a hardcore Colts fan I am not sure that I can feel too great about the prospect of "Big Ben" winning a second Superbowl. However, as much as I like Larry Fitzgerald and former-Colt Edgerrin James, I am not sure that I want to see Arizona win after stealing the 1925 NFL Championship from the Pottsville Maroons. I am not that old, but I am all for holding an 80+ year grudge! Very Happy

So who do you like (or not like)? Predictions are also welcome.

Quite possibly the most die hard Steeler fan I've ever seen.

Myself, I'm not big on either team, but I think the Steeler D will shut down the Cards. Whether Big Ben can stop laying on the ground with a defensive tackle on him is another story. Rolling Eyes

Yeah well, Pittsburgh sucks. My hometown is Baltimore, born, raised, still living there and they played a great game on Sunday, but they made alot of bad calls against us, so I hope the Cardinals beat the living shit out of them!!!

No Steelers fans were harmed in the making of this post.... Laughing

Believe it or not, when I was a little boy just beginning to take an interest in football, there were only a handful of NFL teams, as best as I can remember they were:

Washington Redskins
Baltimore Colts
Philadelphia Eagles
Pittsburgh Steelers
NY Giants
Cleveland Browns
Green Bay Packers
Detroit Lions
St. Louis Cardinals
S.F. Forty-niners
L.A. Rams
Chicago Bears

I tend, for no particular reason to support these teams over one of the "new" teams, except in the case of the Falcons since I'm from Atlanta. I usually support the NFC over AFC since the NFC has its core in the teams of the "old" original NFL and the AFC has its core in the "new" AFL which ultimately merged with the NFL in 1970, (with the exception of the Colts and Steelers who were moved to the AFC to balance the number of teams in their divisions). Makes no sense does it? Well, since I'm not a really big fan I have to choose somehow to make it interesting, and this beats flipping a coin.

Of course I watched the game Confused

The only time the Ravens even played well was the third quarter.

Three fourths of the game was dominated by the Steelers.

Both teams got penalties. It was not one sided. Wink

It wasn't that long ago when I was telling Cardinals jokes.

As in....."How do the Arizona Cardinals count to ten? 0-1, 0-2, 0-3,..."

My gut feeling is that they will win. It's their year.

I was born, raised, and currently live in Arizona. AZ has never ever really been a football state. We've always been obsessed with the Suns despite their lack of ever winning anything.
99% of the people that live here now are transplants from the midwest or whatever state is colder than AZ (aka 49 of 50 states), so there has never ever been a solid Cardinals fan base. The transplants always rooted for the teams from their "roots".

The Cardinals are the team from my "roots" so I will obviously be rooting for them on Sunday.

I really am surprised at how many people hate the Cardinals even though they have ALWAYS been the horrible underdog team.

I have always been the one to cheer for the underdog team I guess.

Blah I dont in anyway hate the Cardinals and if they win I would be very happy for them.

I like the Steelers because they beat the Ravens who I cant stand because they took out my two favorite teams.

Thats the only reason I picked the Steelers over the Cardinals.

I really dont have a preference to either team other than what I just mentioned. My favorite teams are out so who ever wins the Superbowl I will be happy for them. I just love football Very Happy

I'm trying to remember .... was there a Lotto Style "You have been selected to receive four tickets" ?? .... and then the scam was that you had to book travel with [email protected] before the tickets could be sent ?!
