. Seriously, with xp-- service pack 3 screws up more xp's than it helps. use sp4. OR, better yet use one of the Linux distro's. That way you will have more stability. I have been playing with the computer in many ways for about 25 years and using Linux for about 5. Granted, when I first started with Linux I was a totally confused Noob. Now I just a confused old man. the new Linux distro's are very easy to use as per similar to xp. If nothing else, keep a couple of live CD's to help in recovery of damaged xp programs data. Ubuntu works well as does Linux Mint 5-6 and Kiwi. Just my two cents. Haven't used Windows for 1.5 years now.

Stuff like Linux scares luddites like me. I only have time to stick with what I know, and am confused enough, thanks. Smile

I updated the driver on the laptop wifi, but then it wouldn't work, so I'm back with the old river at the moment. I'll try again when I get time.
