Hi everyone,
This is my first bait...
I guess that guy just quit for some reason.
Here the first mail:
Quote:
My dear Good day,my name is R1chard Oform1,i am 20years old orphan from republic of Cote d'Ivoire, presently i am writing you from the capital state where i take as refuge after the brutal murder of my parents during the renewed fighting in my country Ivory Coast. please i need your help to transfer my inheritance in your country and to secure my life in your country for my good future,my father deposited (US$18, 000, 000.00)Eighteen Million united state dollars in his foreign account with one of the prime bank here in Ivory Coast. Please i got your profile from internet and due to political election here in Ivory Coast,i need your urgent assistance to transfer this money to your account in your country so that i will relocate to your country a soon as possible to further my education in your country with your help.I am willing to offer you 20% of the total money for your humble assistance.kindly call me on this number +22547280024 or email me urgently and let me know your willing to help me. Sincerely, R1chard Oform1.

My first reply:
Quote:
Hello R1chard,
I have read your tragic story and I feel that I must help.
What exactly must I do so it will be possible for you to deposit the
money on my account?
I would be happy about a fast answer, as I will be traveling to Africa
in a few months for a buisness trip for my company, the K0l0ha
Investment Bank of Hawaii.

Sincerely,
Fr@nk Genn@rd

Then what he wrote:
Quote:
Dear Fr@nk Genn@rd,

i thank you for your concern upon my life condition here, since i lost my father i have been going through a hard way here because of the way my late father family relative are treating me soo bad,to take my inheritance, they have took other of my late father properties.

i have gone to the bank and the bank director have assured me for the transfer, the bank director said that they will transfer the money $18,000,000.00 to your account through their normal banking process and they said everything will go smoothly without any delay as soon as they hear from any person i present to them as my foreign partner ,the director of the bank advice me that i have to submit aplication in your name first so that they will change and reactivate the suspense account from my father's name to your name as the new beneficiary of the money transfer to your account on my behalf as my late father foreign partner and foreign relative, because my father is death.

send me your full name and your current address with your telephone and fax number and more about you, so that i will go to the bank and submit aplication officially in your name immediatgely to introduce you to the bank .

i will direct you with more details and informations as soon as i hear from you.

I wait for your urgent reply so that we can move fast forward.

respectful,

R1chard.

Quote:
Hello R1chard,
I am glad to hear that you are still doing so well.
I hope you will get better soo.
But, there might be problems that could accour during the transfer:
Since I am an employee of a bank, I am registered in the U.S. Banking
Security System.
The terms of membership in the U.S. BSS require any transfers to be
made only by living persons, or people with official allowance given
by the U.S. BSS to be admitted to handle transactions in the name of a
perished person.
This allowance is rarely given to non- U.S. BSS members, and even more
rarely to non- U.S. citizens.
We will have to find a different way to transfer the money, as
breaking the terms of the U.S BSS would result in me losing my job at
the Koloha Investment Bank of Hawaii.

Sincerely,
Frank Gennard

Oh yes, that good old U.S. BSS... but maybe it was the reason he quit.
Quote:
dear Fr@nk Genn@rd,

yes it is good to find a difference way for the transfer as you surgest.i also surgest that you can open a seperate new bank account in a differnce bank or where it will be ok ,where the bank here will transfer the money in your country after the normal process.there is no problem because the bank will request for the new account number when they have set ready for the transfer after they have gone through the normal process and they will also dirct yu how you can send them the new account infrmation for the urgent wire transfer.just go ahead and contact the bank so that they will open up comunication with you.pleas i will ask you to be very careful not to expose thie transaction to every body because of the security reason,so that there will be know enemies of progress in our progress.

please i want you to keep it secret and confidential only with you and do not expose it because this is all my hope and i am trusting you .i will like you to send me your photo so that i will know who i am dealing with for more trust i wait for your reply.I thank you for all efforts, may God guid and protect us.
R1chard.

R1chard

That was his last mail to me, about 1 week ago...
I mailed him to see how hes doing but nothing.
Quote:
Dear R1chard,

I am of course also interested in transfering the money without any
problems caused by my U.S. BSS member status.
But since I am a member, most of banking transactions are being
overlooked by the United States Homeland Security.
But there maybe is a way of transfering the money, but this cannot be
done by me, but maybe by transfering it to a Swiss bank account. This
would protect me from proscecution by the U.S. BSS, as Switzerland is
a neutral country.

Sincerely, Frank

This is what I wrote to check but nothing:
Quote:
Dear R1chard,
I am wondering why you are not answering to my last email.
I hope that you are doing well.
I am still willing to perform the transaction, and I would request you
to answer ASAP.
Best regards,
Fr@nk

Well, how did I do?
What could I have done better?
Is this funny enough?
Good enough for first bait?
Am I asking too many questions? Very Happy

welcome!

My initial thoughts - One possibility is that your lad may just be away from the computer, or spending more time on a more advanced scam victim. Sometimes this happens. On the other hand maybe he decided not to pursue you for some other reason.

One reason might be that your character knows too much about banking practices - and is putting difficult conditions on the scammer right away. Very often it's more effective for baiting characters to be relatively naive about banks, money transfer and so on.

It also doesn't sound like your character is all that excited about the money - coupled with the "difficult banking issues", this makes you possibly seem like a difficult victim to extract money from.

I think it's fine for a first bait - about the same as my own first baits back in the olden days.

Is it funny enough? Funny enough for me. But you can always add funny touches to baits whenever you want - although some of them can backfire if they're overly ridiculous.

What could you have done better? in my opinion, respond a little bit more like an "easy mark". Feel free to ask him questions but don't bring up anything that is a major problem or inconsistency with his approach. And also don't let on that you have any idea about how the scam works.

Hi Frank, nice start to your baiting career. I would suggest for your first few baits not to worry about trying to be funny and entertaining, more or less just begin to feel the pattern of how the lads interact with you. I think it's much more effective in the beginning to keep shorter answers since they won't pay much attention to them. For entertainment purposes, look to add them later in a bait if you want them. For me personally, lad aggravation is entertainment! Overall a good start Thumbs up

Oh, just don't be surprised if the lad comes back in the future. I've had lads come back after 4 months.

Now you've got an idea of what to expect, get 3 or 4 lads on the go at once. Then you wont mind too much if one of them goes quiet for a while. They really are a mixed bag, some will have more potential for tom-foolery than others. You'll soon learn how to spot a keeper and what way to play 'em. Here are a couple of good tools to read up on.

M7CN $3cure

Get bank accounts closed.

If you learn how to use them as you go, you can work them into a bait when you spot an opportunity, it's best to practice your straight baiting skills until you feel confident.

Hello Frank, you shouldn't have replied to him at all.

I say this because baiting is very addicting. next thing you know you'll be collecting aluminum (us spelling) cans to trade for internet time, you will live life in the shadows, scrutinize everyones character and lose all sense of reality. Wink

not bad for your first bait, give it a few days and see if he replies. all good advice above. don't be discouraged because he hasn't replied, there are plenty more scammers out there.

some light reading to help your success;

My $0.02 you start very good, but the second email you start making problems, he hasn't invested any time in you so when it seems to be a hard nut he might still drop you, the third one you make the problem a bit bigger and he might feel irritated with this unwilling victim that had more problems that money. You show greed very well in your letters, but too much attached problems too.
Think about this one, same game, same kind of 1st answers but no problems yet, just business, questions about the transaction and you just move forwards slowly, then when the WU or bank account show s up, you get your big promotion at work (gone for a week to have that company holiday) when you come back things might have become a tad more difficult as you never realized that this promotion has put you on the U.S. Banking Security System list which might imply....... but you'll have to check that first, that way he has invested time and effort in you and got to know you a bit, if you apologize for the situation and suggest a different way he might be more interested to play your game from there on.

If you bait a guy twice with similar stories you can loose him once over things like that, but the second character that is going slower can prevent the same outcome maybe, the third one who is 8+ emails behind still has all chances to play on as you get to know your lad dislikes and likes better and better.
And he might not be gone yet! Just busy elsewhere as suggested above.
Bait him again, you'll get the hang of it Wink
