Hi all,

After a nigh on 4 year absence from scam baiting I have been drawn back to it by coming across one of my old baits. I jacked it in a few years back as I had some personal stuff happen that kinda took all my time up and left me feeling unenthused about doing stuff like this...but thats all changed...my life is kinda back on track and I feel like having some fun with some lads again!!
So, my question I guess is how much has changed in the last four years or is it the same ol' same ol'...get a gmail account or 3, make ur lad jump through hoops, slap em down etc....?

Welcome back! I completely relate to your situation. After being pretty heavily into baiting for quite a while, I took almost a year's sabbatical myself, and have only recently returned. It sounds like you still understand the basics of it all, but as SlapHappy points out, you might be pleased to find some fabulous new tools and techniques. There are hilarious forms that make great trophies, and fantastically time-wasting online systems that we can use to keep the lads stuck on their computers for hours desperately trying to gain access to their (non-existant) MTCN numbers. The University is great - I've been using it myself in my first TW@T church bait, which has been made easy as pie - just copy and paste the scripts that have all been laid out in order.

The only difference I've really noticed in the lads after my year sabbatical is that some of them seem to be a bit more skittish, twigging very early the moment anything remotely questionable comes up. But then that's probably a good thing - it means that they're probably just as skittish with REAL vics, bailing at the first sign of anything unusual. It also means that we have to work a little harder to get the bright ones to go along with us...but that just makes it all the more satisfying when you can get them to accept the fantasy and spend all their time with you.

After taking such a long break, I definitely found it helpful to re-read the stickies in the Help and Tips forum to remind myself of how it's supposed to go. I also read through a few recent published baits. And now I'm deep in it again. Smile
