I feel sorry that this woman fell for the scam, but at the same time she had no right using someone else' s money (even if it was a business) to do it, even if she was going to pay it back. |

True enough, but then that's what these scams do to people - exhausts people's own resources, and then draws them into a state of desperation so consuming, they'll borrow and even steal to give the scammer what they want in the vain hope of getting their money and more back. A sad case all round, really. |

I'm sorry, but I disagree. In no way was she brainwashed into this. There is always a way out, she simply could have ceased communication. I am glad the courts have looked at it this way too. Stealing is wrong, period. |

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning stealing, not at all. It's very wrong indeed, on any level. Just making the point that some people get sucked right into these things, to the point where rational thinking no longer applies. |

Somewhat in the same topic...I've just had a lad admit that he has a "customer" in a nearby city as my character who is having no problems sending money via WU. I looked up the WU stores in that city and there are just a few. I sent a customer service email to WU from the WU website informing them of an actual victim. Do you think WU will do anything? Like reply to my support request, or should I, armed with the "receivers" name as given by my lad, call the stores and warn them to BOL? |

^^^Thanks, just did (to Ima). My email to WU basically asked them to help me to keep a victim from getting any more "screwed". |

She herself is a thief, and some time in prison would be good for her.
The true victim in this is the employer. |

@akai
Yes, she did in fact steal money from her employer.
But would she have done it without the scammer's prodding?
Probably not.
There is never an "excuse" for thievery, but there are usually "explanations".
She is a 52yr old woman. Had she been a common criminal/petty thief, she would have been in prison a long long time ago. |
