Hello all!

I am baiting what may or may not be a "nice russian actress". The problem I am having is determining if this is leading to a scam or not. The emails have gone on for about two weeks now. Pictures I get without even having to ask (including baby picture of her and pictures of her mother and granny. I could post my exchanges, but she writes a lot in her emails! The last email was not quite professing love but a definite emotional attachment to my character. However, there was much discussion about her wanting to telephone my character and how much trouble it is to get telephone service installed in an apartment building, etc. She did say she would go to the international telephone exchange and call the (K7) number I gave, but she needs the country code as well. I gave the 10 digit U.S. number to begin with only at first Wink

. Also she stated she would have to wait until payday until she could call. She also gave her mailing addy as well as warning me to not send things via regular post but to use FedEx as it is "secure". I mentioned nothing about sending anything.

I am on the fence about this one. On one hand I sense a slowly building scam, and on the other I would hate to cost an innocent party any money calling a dummy phone. Is there any modality that you all could recommend to get her to cut to the chase, or should I drag it out like a few have done before me...Did I mention I'm kinda new???

Guess what...I ran the full name she gave in Google...shame. She running 4 other guys apparently since December. Name and place of residence all match. GAME ON!!! I would still invite new and better modalities of course.

I too have had several Vlads that play for a long time before the money question starts.

You are in the script stage.. the stuff she sends in the same order to every victim. I doubt they are reading your responses much.

The thing to do is ride it out. Google "love letters" or "bad day at work blog" and build up a script of your own. Then you can reply with little effort to this vlad and loads more at the same time.

Then the money requests come in... they will be reading!

It may take several weeks before the money shows up.
Some I have on track now lasted even 2 and a 1/2 months before the first request for money arises!

I've had one that for 3 months "had a job", "traveled between his work city and lagos to visit his family frequently"....showed he had business money...seemed very normal and raised no red flags...other than he fell in love within 2 weeks...

After about 2 months we started to set wedding plans, then he needed my help - I explained I had no money until tax time (early Feb).

He needed me to send him money for a passport (which he would pay extra for so he could get it within 2 days). I explained we had time, there was no reason to pay for a 2 day turn around, he got upset and told me I didn't know how things worked there and he did.

Then he wanted to set up an apartment for 6 months, for my 2 week stay.
He wanted to buy a used car for my 2 week stay.
All with MY money.

Then he found a hotel for us to use, with me sending him the hotel money. Again I explained, no money until tax time...

I looked at the Visa requirements for me to come there to get married, he was too lazy to do set it up to come here. Realized that there was no way we could get married by Feb. 14th and my heart was set on the 14th, so we'll have to wait a year.

THEN he started asking for money for his brother's business, said at least send him a "token" of money - pointed out he knew I was totally broke.

He mentioned that he told all his friends about me (the stupid mugu) Very Happy

And acted if I was letting him down.

Now he's being attentive again and all lovey dovey mentioning money about every other chat...since he knows I file for my taxes on the 16th of the month and should expect it the first week of Feb...

I was done with him anyway -- so will M7CN him, PD him, try to send him on a small safari...so the fun begins for real Very Happy

Then may try to re-bait him if I can remember where I picked him up

You can sometimes go for months with a Vlad, while he's on script, and you simply have to ride it out. save your replies, as these will fit the next baiters script, In fact in a lot of cases, you can bait a couple or three, and use the same reply script. In most cases they won't read them let alone reply to anything specific, And when they do reply to something you have said, there just as likely to revert back on script.
It's a classic chess game with a Vlad, move and counter move, then one sunny day, Mum will get sick, or the Dog will have to have his Tonsil's out, at an ungodly hour, and as she's madly in love with you, guess who's the first one she will ask..
Then and only then will the real bait of move and counter move begin,

And once there off script, That's the time they will also drop you, if things don't go there way.

When I baited Vlads I used the same script on 30+ and they never clocked it. The trick is to check the IP in the header and ensure you dont have the same Vlads on the same script.

The version of the Bat! is one way as is the HELO info contained there too.

Forget worrying if they are real or not - look in the email header and if u see the Bat! and/or a HELO or private IP or a proxy server it is a scammer SIMPLE. Never use Yahoo to bait Vlads as they no longer display the Bat! in their email headers.
