If the measure of a beg is that he isn't offering anything in return, the it is a beg. It's not a "send me 10 dollars to make me rich" beg though , it is obviously carefully crafted to take in the gullible.

OHOH if he has read the ethics thread on here then it's a great lead in to a scam in the knowledge we won't go after him. I'd lay money that it would turn into a scam in no time at all.

Google islam begging. If you do decide to get back to him, there are some great quotes from the Prophet (pbohn) here that you could feed back to him. If he's as devout as he'd like you to think it will at least make him think about what he is doing.

Personally I'd yank his chain and see what he comes back with.

Well his poem clearly didn't win him the $10.000 prize at that site.

I'd ask for an example of his poetry and take it from there.
