Hi, folks,
I've read your antics here for years and stand in awe of your prowess and the wonderful service you do. Bravo!
I am very new at this, so please forgive me if I write like a newbie. I am a newbie. I have seen that you guys misspell identifying names and places, and I'm guessing that's so people won't find this place with a Google search. I will do the same.
I'm writing in hopes that you'll be able to help someone I don't even know. I have a free account which allows me to receive voice mail and faxes online. I received a fax today from a man in Kan5as meant for someone at "Tru5t B4nk Gh4na". Thank goodness, the 66 year old man in Kan5as got the number wrong, so I got the fax of his driver's license, not the lad.
I called the number he had on his fax cover sheet and a woman answered the phone. I told her my name and asked for the man. She said he was out of town. I told her the reason for my call. I got this fax that looks really suspicious. She said that yeah, it had something to do with some e-mail he had gotten. I implored her not to let him send anything else to the guy in Gh4na. I told her that it was absolutely, positively a scam and that the guy would steal his identity and rob him blind. She said something like "Yeah, OK." I don't think she's as concerned as I am.
Is there anything else we can do with the information? Is there anything else I can do to prevent this man from giving his life away? Anyone have anything interesting you could do with the fax? I don't have the recipient's correct fax number because, well, the sender got it wrong.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me stopping this scumbag. |

Well done for recognising it for what it certainly appears to be - the guy is probably still being hard scammed by email, but maybe you can find him in the phone book if you have his name from his license? Maybe you can get it to a scamwarners.com moderator who can make the call?
Fingers crossed he can be saved from himself, and well done again, thanks for joining up just to check |

Stick around and read some more. You could ruin quite a few keyboards with some of the threads here. |
