An investment lad was looking for someone to invest in his/her/its gold, diamond, etc. operation. I told the lad that I only invest in the illegal drug trade, hence the above response.
He/she/it will find out that it is not "sincere" and "trustworthy", but "insincere" and "untrustworthy." I may not regret it, but the lad sure will.

The lad is not confused at all.
He probably only saw the words in your reply and copied them into his standard reply. Your choice of investment probably didn't even register.
All he wanted was to dangle a baited hook and for you to bite.
What he doesn't know is that the hook is not set and when you decide, you will open wide and drop off it. 
Of course, when he realises that you are into criminal activities, there is an opporunity sink the hook into him.
