Good luck with the surgery and my hopes for a speedy recovery.

Now... in the realm of Gastronomic indulgence.....

Filet Mignon, Medium Rare right off the BBQ.. Sizzling to perfection topped with Portobello and Shitake Mushrooms

Fresh Asparagus

Garlic String Beans

Mashed Potato's

A nice Puilly Fuisse - White - 2001 was a good year

For dessert - Pecan Pie or Bavarian Black Forest Cake

a couple cups of Jamaican Coffee

and a nice snifter of a fine brandy to savor after it's all done

As well as a good Cuban to enjoy w/ the Brandy....

Dupe post fixed - Roy

Forgive my ignorance, but does this procedure prevent you from drinking (in the intoxicative sense) as well as eating certain foods?

PS: Who let Dan Quayle in here?

Yes, it certainly does.
My own experience: After two small gulps of red wine it took exactly 4 minutes before I felt the effect of it (getting slightly drunk). But this is gone after 10 minutes again. But I wouldn´t want to take the risk of drinking larger amount of alcohol, since you might also get a dumping* from it (since it is pretty high calories stuff). Shocked Shocked
The reason for the fast absorption of alcohol is that the fluid gets into the small intenstine VERY fast where it is absorbed and goes straight into the blood.

Good luck Chibuike, I wish you the best! I do have one question though, will you be ready for Valentines day? I don't know what I would do in the V-day thread if your not up to it. But really, I hope it all works out great for you. The last supper? Me, of course........ Laughing

^^^ Of course, Harry, I will be available for V-Day! A few pounds lighter, ready and raring to go....wahhhhwhooooo! I can't wait. However, I won't be able to have anything sweet other then you and absolutely no alcohol. I will just be reaching my mushy food stage so it looks like mushy peas for all.

I really dont know what my favourite meal would be, it varies from week to week
For my son it would be a chicken curry, he's discovered Phaal (or Fal )
which he's describing as tasty.
Honestly that laddie must have a fire proof gullet.

Hope all goes well, Chibuike

You're very brave, you too, Breadcrumb.
Not only to have the surgery but the callenging change in lifestyle as well.

Is it a permanent form of surgery?
