I was at my bank and a person at the window next to me was depositing a check.
I over heard there convesation and he sead he just sold a car on craigs list.
and person bought it sight unsean and the bank check was for more than the sale price.
after hearing that I butted in and started explaining how overpayment scams worked.
the back teller didn't even know a lot of this and didn't know sometimes it could take weeks or even months for the check to be found bad.
The started to make some calls and called the bank it was issued from and sure enough. counterfit.
I gave the guy 419eater and Scamwarners site and he was going to check them out.
I did my good deed for the day, now I can go back to being my evil rotten self.  |

Where my mailbox is at they know what I am using it for and that a customer at the same place got a letter they were not expecting via ups and turns out it was a fake check... and asked me if i knew what to do and etc..
so that helped save the day as well too! |
