It's so sad. Seniors tend to register for everything in sight, so they just assume they must have entered a lottery at some point.

On the other extreme, some of my elderly friends don't use the internet at all because they get so much spam in their email box. They refuse to see that it's because they sign up for every prize draw that's offered. That's also one of the reasons they get so much junk mail, but try to get them to draw the connection...!

I was walking through the local shopping mall this weekend and there was a kiosk where you could sign up to win an L L Bean gift card. I don't think it was Bean's kiosk because their logo was nowhere to be found. I suspect it's probably some local realtor or investment company trolling for leads. I passed it 5 times (the weather was bad so I was doing a 5 mile walk inside) and there was always a crowd of seniors around it. They have no concept of WHY anyone would want their name and address, except to give them a prize. Rolling Eyes
