Yeah E-bay got their 5% at the cost of the stolen card used to set up the account. So VISA or whoever paid for that party. And of course if the dude did not bait safe the criminals could have real life information on him.
But other than that it was great. |

^^ I wonder if that did happen. Presumably VISA would have been alerted by a very large payment on the card and may well have blocked the payment to Ebay and cancelled the card. In that circumstance, the only people who lose out are ebay - for having a stupid system - and the scammer who loses the stolen card.
I know I'm guessing and I agree with the third party rules so I'm not advocating it as a policy. That said, if VISA and/or Ebay don't notice when someone puts an enormous, and obviously fake, charge to a card they're clearly not doing their job properly. |
