Well, not all three of us unfortunately. THE ED NORRIS SHOW orginally just asked for me but I told them that this was a group effort. They wrote back and said that they could not handle all three of us at once... it would make for too much confusion.
Jojo and I will be on the air today at 4:00 PM EST. It kind of sucks that the Prof won't be on because it was his sophmoric laughing in the background on This American Life that made me laugh the hardest the last time we did a radio show.
Don't worry about not being able to hear the show live because this stuff will also be used for a podcast that will be released later. Of course, we will get the link for that once it is available.
We were told that these guys are far more baiter friendly than Ira Glass, so we will be able to let our hair down a bit. Look out lad huggers! |

On Ed Norris from his site: "Police Commissioner, ex-convict, political kingmaker, radio host, television star, husband, father, man.Regardless of what label he’s been given, Ed Norris has continued to rise above the media and his critics’ portrayal of him. Always fighting for the little guy, whether from behind a desk, a microphone, or a news camera, Ed Norris has never been afraid to tell anyone exactly what he thinks."
Hmmm. Yeah. I look forward to hearing this show! The previous one had myself and all friends I had listen to it, roll on the floor with laughter. |

Free the Abeche Three!
(Sorry, just getting in some practice)
This one sounds like it could be fun. From reading the Ed Norrish website I get the impression that he'll think you were soft on the Abeche lads.
Be sure and mention "run left." |

I don't think that we have to worry about a massive influx of new visitors. This American Life was heard by 2.5 million people. The Ed Norris Show is only broadcast in Baltimore. |

unimaginable radio whores. Can't you secretly wheel Prof in on skype or something? It can never top the Ira Glass interview without the background laughs ... |

Something's fishy here. According to the Ed Norris website the show is on 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Weekdays. And you guys are coming on at 4:00, one hour after the show ends?
edit - well, according to the radio website the show is on 3:00 - 6:00 pm weekdays. I hope someone told Ed. |

The guy that contacted us is the producer of the show. He also has his own show on the same station. Perhaps we will be on his show. He never made it crystal clear, but we don't really care. Just so long as we have a chance to make people more aware of the scams that these guys pull, we are good. |

Ed Norris got it absolutely right.
Not a criminal-hugging cry-baby like Ira Glass. |

Well, I hope that sounded OK. I could barely hear them. And when that Nigerian guy was going on, I was totally lost. Ira was not quite as baiter-friendly perhaps, but he was WAY more prepared and organized. This interview could have used a little bit more of that I think. |

I do wish Prof could have been there. But his appearance on Oprah or The View was too important. |

I didn't get that impression of Ira Glass or his interview at all. He had a few qualms about the extremity of the bait, but then again some people here did too. The telling point was at the end when he allowed JoJo to relate just what a scumbag Adamu continued to be even after he returned from Abeche. Overall I thought it was pretty balanced.
This was a good show, but I found myself willing the interviewers to do a better job telling the whole story. The questions they asked seemed a bit disjointed and if I didn't already know the story the whole thing might not have made all that much sense. TAL definitely had more time, which helped, but they really set up the story nicely.
Awesome visibility, though.

Beat me to it. Yeah, you guys did great (though JoJo sounded really far away to me), but the questioning just didn't lead you guys through the story like it should have.
At the end of the day, it probably doesn't matter. Even if they're not familiar with the whole story, the fact that you streded a scammer in Chad probably will get some listeners curious enough to come here and check the site out. |
