The RECOVERY scam is happening I regret to say.
Diplomats supposed to be in Sydney with bulk of his lost money.
Is there anyway the Sydney phone number that my friend is using to talk to them, is actually somewhere else?
He is holding onto the tiny belief that they maybe still holding his monies that will be released to him.
This is based on because he thinks they are in Australia, altho 5000kms away from where he is.
An 02xxxxxxxx phone number can redirect calls to a mobile phone in Ghana, can't it?
How would they have a Sydney number?
They are so detailed and organised.

With $100k of your friends money, they may even *be* in Sydney now, although it is more likely they're using a redirect service or Skype or another VOIP virtual number to forward to mobiles in Ghana/wherever.

It is trivially easy to set up in the UK for instance.

Last year, if memory serves, A Current Affair staged a confrontation with two Lads in Sydney that turned into a farcical, pointless and futile chase. It's possible that there are Lad contacts, if not actual Lads, in Sydney.
