Scammer targeting former Victims?

Ok, Ok, I know we don't normally read the opening script, but this one came across today and it was sickening. This guy is trying to find people who have already been victimized once so he can do it again. This calls for more than my own, noobie brand of baiting; it calls for something a little more epic.

I have faith in you all to provide that special brand of something:

Hope all is well with you and family?,You may not understand why this mail came to you.We have been having a meeting for the passed 7 months which ended 2 days ago with the former secretary to the UNITED NATIONS.This email is to all the people that have been scammed in any part of the world, the UNITED NATIONS have agreed to compensate them with the sum of US$ 500,000,00 This includes every foriegn contractors that may have not received their contract sum, and people that have had an unfinished transaction or international businesses that failed due to Government problems etc.We found your name in our list and that is why we are contacting you, this have been agreed upon and have been signed.You are advised to contact MR JIM OVIA ZENITH BANK NIGERIA PLC, as he is our representative in Nigeria , contact him immediately for your Cheque/ International Bank Draft of USD$ 500,000,00 This funds are in a Bank Draft for security purpose ok? so he will send it to you and you can clear it in any bank of your choice.Therefore, you should send him your full Name and telephone number/your correct mailing address where you want him to send the Draft to you.Conatct MR JIM OVIA Email: [email protected] Thanks and God bless you and your family.Hoping to hear from you as soon as you cash your Bank Draft.Making the world a better place

I was baiting Kofi and Jim Ova last month.

Jim will demand money for VAT tax, and if the past is anything to go by, he will make a hash of picking the money up from Western Union.

Kofi comes out with some right bollocks he's cut and pasted from somewhere, like this little gem:

sadly, recovery scammer lads have realised that those who have been scammed in the past are susceptible to rash promises made over the internet, as well as desperate to get back the money they have already lost.

I guess this just goes to show how new at this I am. I thought I'd seen how low these lads will go...apparently I was wrong. I get why they'd target the victims, it just seems like a new low.

Kind of depressing, really.

Still can't belive Mr. Kofi Anan himself turns out to be 419! Shocked

My Jim Ovia has updated his script to have Ban Ki-Moon as Sec. General of the UN rather than Kofi Annan. I like Ovia's cheesy UN logos, one of which has "Sample from CC-Art.com" on top of it and the other logo has a link to wikipedia.

I'm baiting a recovery scammer right now. I had a long and highly successful bait over two years ago which was a gift that keeps on giving -- somehow my character's information has been passed around and there are a lot of lads who sincerely believe I have paid over $200K in the past. Every few months another recovery scammer comes along to take a try. This one is much smarter and more articulate than the others so it will be interesting to see where it goes.

I'd call these guys the lowest of the low except that I keep seeing new examples of even more loathesome scams. But as RoyCropper says, these slimeballs know that past victims are proven marks, and the promise of retribution and restitution can go a long way to pulling a victim back in. Evil or Very Mad
